I have been experimenting with mixing regular acrylics and metallics together and amd really liking the effect. You can play with finish a lot more like you said.

Awesome paintjob and video, love it as much as the last kickstarter's vids you made with the huntress and the one on the woods 👏👏👏

I'm not scared of larger models, it's a clanrat that terrifies me. It's like painting a watch battery!

I get that you focused on accessibility of this one and for the general KZbin audience that's probably the right way to go. Personally I would enjoy something in between this and the level you paint for competition (or personal projects).

This is a great guide for painting at a bigger scale, coming from a 28/32mm background. If anyone in the replies ever has a chance to take a class from Andy, I would highly recommend it. I took his NMM class at NOVA this September and it was fantastic! Cheers, Andy!

This is a great vid , it’s explained at a beginner level and easy to understand , it honestly makes me feel like I can tackle this , the end result would be no where near this standard though , thanks for sharing and cool minis guys 🤟🏻

I’ve been wanting to branch out into busts or larger scale stuff. This video was really encouraging for me to give it a try

I think some things are easier with large scale!

Nice painting as always 👍👍

Awesome! I am glad you'll use the airbrush. People need to just go buy one instead of new minis they'll never paint
@andywardle298820 күн бұрын
Exactly! Skip one mini from the pile for a tool you can use on everything….and maybe even get more of the pile finished! 😅

Nice, I want to get a couple of large scale miniature’s from Mitches Military Models (the Henry V bust being one) but was wondering would I do them justice
@andywardle298820 күн бұрын
I think if there is paint on the model that is justice. 😊 Just get stuck in!

As normal i done things backwards. My first models were 1/6 scale guldan and sylvanas. Just finishing imperial knight and ghaz and ive just finished my 1st black tamplar

When working with resin figures like this, what sort of PPE / environmental protection would you recommend? I think that is my only real consternation about working with the stuff, but after seeing this video (and the ones on Pateron) I'm becoming sorely tempted indeed.
@andywardle298820 күн бұрын
If you are sanding it, a cheap mask would be good. Other than that nothing. Once it’s primed I use a glove to not rub the paint off but you are safe 😊

@@andywardle2988 Oh that is very encouraging! I'll start shopping for dust masks, or do you mean a respirator? I'll need to get something sorted for when my Deogard II "mini" arrives. Thank you for the tips and nice to hear you in YT for a change

Painting large scale is much easier than small scale anyway. Small miniatures are much more difficult.
@andywardle298817 күн бұрын
Some parts can be, but in general I think large scale is more difficult to paint to a high level.
@dfbovey17 күн бұрын
@@andywardle2988 I feel opposite. Small models have very little surface space to work on. Much easier to utilize a wide array of techniques, blends and brushstrokes with larger surface areas. Trying similar techniques on small surfaces that you can barely see without magnification is much more challenging for me.
