With the recent riots here in South Africa a while ago i went patrolling with our local community protection forum and i went with my paintball gun in hand and my G17 by my side should shit get real. I mean the rioters were not killers, they were opportunists who wanted free stuff, can't real kill a man for that but you can give him a good whipping and that is exactly what solid balls do.

And that is why you have "real steel" (technically copper and lead, but what do i know🤷‍♂️) on your leg Holster. The problem at hand is there is nothing between a harsh word and deadly force but rubber bullets from shotguns which cause grievous bodily harm when used incorrectly by some of our poorly trained officers. These rioters are nothing more thsn grown children throwing tantrums and a shambok is the perfect solution except police need to get too close to them and that could lead to police losing their firearms and getting shot, thus my opinion is paintball guns with a few pepper bals thrown in the mix and have a company make balls with paint that stains so they csn wash it off and csn be picked up hours after an incident and charged and fined accordingly. Infact then one can actually focus on shooting the instigators who have been identified and not worrying if people around therm get some "collateral damage" 😉 But im sure some political parties will scream BS human rights even at that,.... Guess good citizens are screwed.

Similar in Canada, you must almost pay the thief for his labor and excuse yourself if he is displeased by the amount you provided... but f#$& it, I am building a strong HPA marker using rubber balls to fend off coyotes and stray dogs... or anything or anyone I could misjudge for one of these. 🤣

I would highly recommend a mix of pepper balls and riot balls. The pepper balls will give a "pepper spray" effect on the intruder, while the riot balls will stun him. The combination of the two would likely run off any would be bad guy

I agree with you about mixing them, especially outside. It is just hard to deploy them both from the same device reliably without pepperball breakages in the marker or having to tune down the marker so the riot balls hit weaker. I will be testing some scenarios in the future.

Of course, the firearm is superior. BUT... that being said, a good airsoft/paintball launcher with good joules/fps and the right ammo can do some serious hurt. And... if you have the mace or pepper balls a la Byrna, you have quite the self-defense tool.

Forget the 12-joule Byrma my PB guns go 64 joules =418fps with heavy 8 gram balls

The pepper balls kind of suck unless you shoot extremely close to the face. Houston Jones (jack ass like channel) got shot multiple times by them, and they never effected him since they only shot his chest. They can definitely burn you if the powder makes it to your eyes, but it seems iffy on it doing so. I think you would be better off with the steel rubber coated balls for paint ball guns. This is a very important topic. In reality, it is not easy to pick up a firearm and just shoot, because there is serious risk of collateral damage - bullets pierce through walls or windows to hit unintended target.

best to avoid killing someone even in self defense and avoid all court and police crap. its a stressful experience. non lethal self defense is the way but one should always try to get some skills in with real firearms, doesnt mean you have to buy one but having skills with u is paramount

Non lethal is always the best go to weapon. That being said, a back up firearm, would be useful for escalated encounters, IE bad guys pull out their firearms !

We experienced wanton destruction due to looting and riots last month in Zululand (one of the nine provinces of the Republic of South Africa) which was triggered when former president Jacob Zuma was imprisoned and consequently I have purchased a paintball marker for self defence. The BT OMEGA looks like an M16 which is very cool and it came with lots of extras and a vest, over and beyond that it has been upgraded now with a high velocity spring (a red one). This weekend I will do some target practice to test it out and I just can't wait! I like your style, and you are very entertaining too. Thank you for your time and what you do.

Here's the thing: lots of people have little to no experience with real firearms, but may have used paintball guns a lot. Having the comfort to shoot and put rounds where you want them without fear of the gun itself can boost confidence and help keep nerves calm, as you're able to focus on the intruder with little concern for your "fish out of water" relationship with deadly firearms Given that riot balls aren't likely to be lethal, it also means a defender is likely to be more ruthless if they knock the intruder down. Keep firing volleys and disarm them, if they're that lucky that the intruder is taken off guard (like, who expects to be legitimately assaulted with a paintball gun lol) In no way shape or form am I saying a paintball gun with riot balls is better than firearm for self defense... But for people who don't like or use guns OR for people who can't get a real gun, I'd much rather have the paintball setup than a bat or stick or whatever. NOBODY wants to get pelted with those steel balls, life threatening or not. It's still probably a nasty hospital trip

thing is, if you kill someone, even if its self defense, you can get yourself into jail.. i much rather have a non lethal, if you put red paint on it it will still scare the shit out of someone thinking its blood.

Please do a proper test using the so called heavy or steel balls vs an optimised ball of around 2.8gr. Using standard paintball guns/markers. The heavy balls are ineffective compared to a much lighter ball. Please do the tests and put this one to bed. Thank you for your great videos.

I'd use a paintball gun maybe but not paint balls. You'd want more effective ammo such as riot balls or something a bit heavier and more solid than paint... But then again, I'm in Canada where self-defense is basically illegal... Harm a criminal and you go to jail while he gets awarded in court for discomfort he sustained when attacking you... Yeah, it's pathetic.

The idea is that you would screw it on before, however the "ammo" can stay in the unit. I don't know exactly how long it would take to leak out but I can get back to you on that.
