My superstition is to do with my ball markers. I get a ball marker from every course I play and when I have a bad round I switch out the current marker with a different one. If I play well it stays in. If I hit a bit of a slump I go back to my Pebble Beach marker as it reminds me of good times in the hope it gives me some good mojo.

My biggest superstition when playing (applies to any sport/activity for me) is when someone says anything along the lines of "we need a good shot here" or "can't miss this shot" etc. Whenever I hear that when I'm up, it always ends bad. So whenever someone else is up and I think something like that, I do my best to keep my damn mouth shut so I don't breath that bad juju into existence. Love the way you talk about, love and appreciate our great country. It truly is the greatest country to live in, but sadly that idea is being lost on so many Americans. Keep up the fantastic work you do. Much love! God bless America, and God bless you as well Matt!

My superstition is that I don't like to birdie the first hole. Every time I do my game falls apart the rest of the day so it's bad luck to do too good on the first hole. I might have to become one of these snow birds and head down there, what a beautiful coarse and looks like a ton of fun to play!

Great Channel Matt!! I draw a cross on my balls for alignment. My superstition is that I put WAY better when I align my 10 footer and up with the long ligne and everything below that with the short one. It work so well, since I started doing that, I'm only 3 putting everything other holes. It's also back luck to align your ball if your closer than 3 feet from the hole... if you do, you'll miss. If you don't, you'll make the put... 60% of the time, every time! ;)

I have a separate place in my golf bag for what I call "Birdie" balls. Basically, if I birdie a hole, I take that ball, and put it in that separate spot, and use a different ball on the next hole. When my game is really off, I take one of those balls out, and it sort of helps me refocus, as well as encourages me that I'm not as bad as I think. Seeing quite a few balls in that spot gives me a great feeling, which usually leads to better shots.

What T and Oliver said are both correct: the shaft stiffness, lie angle, and swing weight are all changed a bit by the grip down. Probably something to subtlety adjust for for a golfer of Matt’s caliber, most likely by just aiming slightly left
