In my 50's I remember straddling a ladder to paint my high vaulted wall up to the ceilings, now I'm in my mid 70's and need to repaint a 15 year old accent red wall back to white...No, I'm not going to take a chance with a tall ladder at my age. I will do exactly what you have demonstrated with the extension pole and the "Paint Pad". GREAT VIDEO! Your wall turned out fabulous 🤩👍👏

Great job! I would suggest you get an 18" roller. Your walls are huge, and it would help speed up the process.

1:42 ⚠ *That's exactly how NOT to use a ladder* ⚠ Nope, no no. Don't step on the top like that especially since no one is spotting you to prevent that ladder from wobbling or tipping. Sure it's tempting to stand on the top like that, but hey that warning on the ladder that says not to stand on the top of it is not joking. 😂Of course I've done that too. I just found a bunch of OSHA safety videos that convinced me not to do that again. Ha, I'm just DIY painting like you are here. *Really impressive how you painted that edge way way way way up high* 🏆🏆🏆

Thank you so much for this video. I've been on the phone with Home Depot several times discussing the purchase and/or rental of scaffolding as my daughter is wanting to paint the walls of a skylight in her kitchen (~17' high) Recently we stained the wood trim around the skylight and she got on top of those very high A frame ladders and it was scary and exhausting. I stood on a smaller ladder and looked after putting more stain on the foam brush (i stained part of the window trim so i know first hand how high you have to get on the ladder). I've been really worried what to do to keep her safe. She asked me last night if we can now roller paint the walls and then as I'm lying awake at 5:30 am I find myself desperately looking at scaffolding again, and along comes your video. I can't thank you enough for taking the time to post this!

I used to paint 10 ft higher honey comb/ wasp comb at entrance of my house. This pole- purchased ( 20 ft long) from home depot. Wrapped sponge at top of pole by electrical tape. Sprayed anti wasp ( 14 $ at Home Depot ) on songe. (Then worn gloves, prayed for honey bee and wasp and Sprayed powerful water jet by garden hose 1 day ahead to go from here.) Next day the anti wasp spray by spong at tip of this pole is applied. So they don't make come there again other wise they do make at same place. Saved 100$ each time. ( again happen at 25 ft higher under roof. So used same 20 ft extended telescopic pole on 6 ft ladder. Good to go) Pole cost me 50$ at home depot)

Well done Kwen! Great job! (I reckon you would have been fine on the 20 ft ladders by the looks of how confident you are with heights and access platforms but I totally get your family’s concerns). Ideally, you’d do work at this height from scaffolding anyway. A cherry picker might also be another option….? Anyway, you’ve done an awesome job. I actually came across your video because I was looking at paint edgers in order to paint high up areas on stairwells.

@@kwenm4615 Lol! Nooo! I was joking. Don’t get the 20 ft - 22 ft ladder! Super dangerous. I agree with your family on this one, even though you are really confident with heights. Not worth the risk and they love you too much. Have a great day. X

Mr. LongArm - get one! It's really useful. I found one in my garage not knowing I even had it. Can change some light bulbs that are about 20 feet up (ceiling) and it even lets you attach a saw blade for high tree limbs if you need to cut a few. Mostly it's fantastic for painting high walls.
