Painting a Fall Forest Landscape With Acrylics in 10 Minutes!

Today we paint a fall forest landscape. This autumn tree line is completed in just about 10 minutes! This is a real time acrylic landscape painting tutorial.

Hi Ryan, love your tutorials but I need some help! I''m just learning and want to perfect my leaves so what do you suggest using for a brush since I don't yet have an old fluffy one? Thank you from Connecticut

Fear not, there are plenty of easy solutions! The most viable would simply be to take a new square headed brush and push it straight down into a table (or hard surface) multiple times. Apply pressure from different directions and pull random sides outwards. Do this a number of times, dampen it, continue, and let it dry awkwardly. Luckily (kind of) It's not difficult to 'ruin' a brush :)

Ryan, I really enjoy these demos. I've been looking for rapid painting lessons so as to produce boilermakers until I can afford to concentrate on more involved paintings, if you will. I'm more into oils. But I see acrylics is the way to go for this purpose. My past acrylic works were gaudy. But you've shown me that doesn't have to be so. Thanks for that alone! One Q.: I notice you haven't mentioned using any medium, only water. Do you use mediums at all ? I'll have to watch some of your longer length vids. Well, I planned to. Best regards, Carl.

I actually don't use any mediums. I've tried a good number of them but always find that I can achieve what I want with water. I also try to make these quick lessons as easy and accessible as possible which means limiting the complications additional mediums bring. I hope you find that you also enjoy working with acrylics. They can be such an efficient/forgiving medium!

What is "desaturated blue " ?

It's a blue with grey mixed in it. This tones down the saturation level so it isn't as vibrant.
