can you do a 10 minute painting on a garden of rose bushes? i know you've done a tutorial on a rose, but that rose is to complex to repeat in a small area

I think that they are absolutely fantastic as well and I've tried a few along with you (of course not in 10 or 13 mins but..) with all of that said Ryan jk they are fabulous! Also, you are without a doubt the easiest to follow along with when compared to the other artists doing tutorials.. I'm looking forward to next Saturday already!

What size canvas are you using? I know it's small, but I'd like to know the size. I use a sketchbook to practice painting and I'd like to use the same dimensions as your paintings.

I wasn’t able to find the instructions on the old scrubby brush In the links below. Could you send me something to show how to make these brushes for the bushes and flowers. I absolutely love your 10 minute paintings they are so beautiful

Well, one and a half hours and the wrong colors for this painting. Some how it does not look like this painting. But it still gets a thumbs up because it's a beautiful painting.

Well, acrylic paints are rarely ever textured and easy to paint over. Now that you know what you don't like about them you can go back and simplify them :)

Great! I am going to try too. What kind of pen do you use to drew tree and mountain? Color pencil and sharpie?
@RyanORourkeArtist7 жыл бұрын
Colored pencil and sharpie is correct! They don't dilute light pigments like graphite/charcoal does :)

I think you made a mistake by painting the cherry tree in different shades. There are white, pale pink and dark pink blossoms. But, they don't come in 3 different shades on one tree. I've been looking at the trees in my neighbourhood along with the plum blossom trees and the varying colours are beautiful. I hope people know the difference between cherry and plum trees, it's not difficult to distinguish, however too many people think that every tree is a cherry tree.
@RyanORourkeArtist7 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the thought. However, I wasn't painting the three shades to indicate the blossoms. I was painting the three shades because light creates light/medium/dark gradients. It's the general pink of the tree adapting to the light source. We also used a similar gradation on the tree trunk; without this step paintings/life looks 'flat' I hope that helps :)

thanks for the explanation. I understand this now, i liked and posted your video on my fb page as i do like the way you paint. :-)

Art is not a photograph. If you want exact image, get a camera. Art is interpreting and creating. There is no right or wrong. The idea is to give an impressionistic piece of work.
