LOVE your 10-minute videos! This is the first one I painted... although, with stopping the video from time to time, this painting took me about an hour. My husband was AMAZED at the progress of my skills! Thank you! 😎

Thank you for your teaching. You always highlight the important points that beginners often omit in their drawings. For examples, the reflections angles of the plants on the water and the highlight on the rocks. This skill brightens the drawings. I have followed your teachings and the results are good. Much appreciate your sharing.

You're awesome, I like that you use a small canvas. I get them for a dollar each, they're my practice boards. When I improve my technique I go onto bigger canvases. I'd like to thank you for helping me achieve a little better style. I've got 4-5 oil and acrylic artists and 4-5 sketch artists I've been watching for the past 5months. A great deal of gratitude to you guys for the amount of time you dedicate to your fellow man. You've giving me the chance to create something nice in this world and hopefully I'll get better and be able to give back to others what I have learned. Thx again and keep up the great work👨‍🎨🎨🖌

I also wanted to share a tip with everyone: Never throw away your brushes! That way you will have a whole set with interesting bristles! I have got some brushes that are over 15 years old! I've noticed that most of the artist only use the basic colors of the paint instead of using the different colors of paint. Is there a reason that you don't use the colors that come in a set of acrylic paints? Example, pinks, grays, Yellows to gold, etc... I love the 10 minute paintings that you teach. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with others. The end result of them are always stunning. I hope that you'll have time to answer my questions? Again, many thanks for sharing.

I think that this falls in line with color theory and the color wheel. Ryan would know best but I've just been watching a lot of video's on color theory and the color wheel and I've noticed that a couple of artist will challenge us to do 50 to 100 paintings just using the primary colors and to make the colors on the color wheel and white; meaning to make all of your own colors just from the primary colors of red, blue and yellow. There's also a way of making all the colors on the color wheel using cyan blue, magenta and yellow. But I'd keep it simple if you're just starting out and use the more popular primary red primary blue and primary yellow. Some artist say to use have white and black but the last one I watched just added white because you can make black from the primary colors. I think it's a good idea for serious artists to learn all this about color theory. I think that if you're just painting for fun, like me, you can just learn the basics on color. I'm just trying to learn the basics and play around basically. I'm almost 60 and don't expect to be able to spit out a master piece like so many here are doing. With that said, some colors just fit in better when you cool them off or warm them up with the color on the opposite side of the color wheel vs going directly to black. I hope that makes sense. I couldn't help but try this and it really works. I was surprised that red was a greyed down red by adding the color green. In my painting it was much better than adding grey or black. I'll be looking to see what Ryan says to see if I'm understanding my colors correctly. So, please wait for the pros to tell you rather than with what I'm saying. I'm still new at all of this. I've only started painting in February 2017. It's a good question. Good Luck.

I have a few kits with about 36 colors in it. that's the reason I asked the question. I can mix the colors with no problem, I just wanted to be able to use the other tubes I bought for painting on a canvas. I;ve never tried it. before. I love painting ceramic ornaments and most anything else that you can imagine. But, you're reply brings up a great answer as well.I appreciate everyone's input regarding my question. I hope you have a blessed day, and good luck with your painting. Debbie : )
@debbie9964
@debbie9964 7 жыл бұрын
I can do the mixture of the colors for the sky. I'm just wondering about the things like the tree trunks and such as that. A single color that's in my kits. I hate to waste all of the different colors. Especially the many different beautiful colors. It doesn't matter when I'm painting things like ceramics, mailboxes and such. I can mix the colors or just pick any color that I want. Thanks for your input, and have a blessed day. Debbie : )
