rocks can be fairly hard, they can be very dull, (depending on the rock type) so most will have soft shadows and highlights but the surface of rocks actually tend to have hard edges so a shadow can abruptly end and a lip of the rock could catch light so it has a very interesting mixture of these soft almost like gradients but than it has just sharp cast shadows.

At first I was staring like "What is going on? What kind of mess are they making?" Then I ended up thinking that some of your shading made sense. The finished thing ended up being pretty cool.

This is awesome! :D Do you know how to make rain drops in sai? And also have water dripping from a character from being wet from swimming? Thats the problem I am having and don't understand how they did it. I also have searched on youtube none so far. :/

Cool, but you emphasize too much on the beginning parts. you talk too little about the most important part, the shading.
