Painting a Wood Dresser without Sanding

I have a lot of people asking me about painting furniture without sanding. I decided paint a dresser using Rethunk Junk products demonstrate how to paint a without sanding in this video.

“The Prep” from Rethunkjunk by laura has the same effect as White Spirit in that it removes oil, wax and dirt. One slight difference... White Spirit costs 2$ a litre... “The Prep” costs nearly 40$ for the same quantity!

Steff, I wasn’t familiar with white spirit either, so I googled it. Looks like just clear mineral spirits.

actually, if there is wax, you have to remove it. I stopped in my tracks as I need to know if Lemon Pledge is considered a wax

Yep. That is pretty much dry brushing. I used to do that a lot and still sell it at the same price as fully painted pieces!

Just do it. No better way to get confidence than by making mistakes, learning from them, and applying that knowledge on your next piece. A lot of trials and tribulations come from painting furniture when you first start. Dont let that stop you and keep going!
