Have you ever painted on all black AF1’s and if so, would you recommend sanding them as part of the prep work, or just using deglazer? I’m worried about what sanding might do to the black leather surface.

Also, what is that stencil paper you use??? It looks like it has an adhesive side to stay held onto the shoe.

Looks like vinyl for circuit or silhouette etc.

We recommend Oracal 811 for anybody just starting out, once you get familiar with vinyl you can play with some of the stronger adhesive stuff like FDC 3700 glitter

Great stuff as always. Can I ask why on the stencils, such as the Chains or the Mickey, you put the positive down, the negative down, then removed the positive again? Why didn't you just put the negative down? Did I miss something?

lonestarposse21 I transfer the positive down first most of the time to get the exact placement I want, if I were to lay down my negative first I’m slightly guessing even if it’s just by a little bit I may end up with a placement I don’t love

Where do you get the sander pad for the ryobi detail sander ?

Just cut out triangles of larger sheets, the adhesive pads stop around 2-300 grit usuallt

Sanding really helps rough up the surface so that the paint can bond to it. Much more so than just using a scotch Brite pad or just cotton ball/acetone
