I finally learned almost every paint needs reducing, I reduced then added paint as needed, more reducer then paint, saves paint in the long run, I add the reducer first in the cup/bowl, then paint, then with a cheap paint brush, like 25 for a dollar type, bristle in cup/bowl swirling in a circle motion, clockwise, then counter clockwise several times, and then a back and forth motion made by rolling the brush between my thumb and index finger. Test spray and go! No wasted cups or stirring sticks.

Absolutely amazing. I've heard the 40/30 & 40/11 mentioned on many occasions but always been left puzzled exactly what they are? Thanks to your video I know exactly what they are, how to use them and what to expect if I abused them! Once again I have learnt loads and info that can save me money in the future. Thank you for sharing this video, take care my friend 👍😷👍🏴

Hi! everything you explain is perfect, but if add three drops of createx how can i add 10% of reducer? thanks
@lureblanks2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Good point there😊You can either mix larger amounts of paint and paint more lures at the same time. Or i sometimes just use one drop of reducer with 3 drops of paint and a little 4050. The 4050 is really thick and then balances out the ratio of reducer to paint.

Love your tutorials, great information, I have just purchased some Createx paints in Opaque, just the basic pack, I make my own timber lures, do you recommend I get a bottle of 4011 and a bottle of 4030 for those paints to adhere to the lures
@lureblanks2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Daniel! Yes absolutely, in a matter of fact I recommend to get some 4011 and 4050. 4050 is even better (adhesion wise) . In this way you can also mix more reducer and 4050 with your opaque paints to make em a little more transparent and smooth to do details like stripes, spots, finns, and more subtle colors. It takes a little practice but you will get the hang of it! 👍

Great video. I am still a bit confused. If your paint is too thinned down, how do you know whether to add more paint or balancing clear?
@lureblanks Жыл бұрын
If you want your paint that is thinned down too much, to be very transparent you can add balancing clear. If you want your paint to maintain good coverage you can add more paint 👌 both are correct but just depends on what kinds of result you want

There was a temporary drop in audio and I mist a part of what you said, in the Vallejo paint is the game colours a good one for a beginner to airbrushing ? Or would you recommend something else ?.
@lureblanks Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the heads up, I will have a look at that and hopefully I can still fix it. Game color would be an option, but you will need to reduce the paint yourself and that can be challenging in the beginning as a beginner. But surely you could give it a try if you'd like. Or else I would recommend starting out with vallejo game air, these are ready to use straight from the bottle and not necessarily need Thinning down 👌

Thanks! Its a fine pored sponge with a little airbrush cleaner and water. It cleans the needle nice and quick so there is no paint residue left on the needle 👍

Maybe I need to try some 4011. I’ve been using 4012 and I agree, it doesn’t mix well. I mix all my paints in small plastic shit glasses so I know I’m mixing everything. Yeah, I waste some paint doing it that way. Even with the good mix I get in the cup, but you can clearly see that it separates a little when spraying

I have 4011 and 4030. I always thought the 4011 was for Detail paints and the 4030 was for candy paints. I’m going to have to try all this
@lureblanks3 жыл бұрын
@@Retro-2-now You will not regret it :D for some 4011 works better then 4012. Adding 4030 or 4050 also makes a big difference, as well as playing a little your airpressure :D

Great explanation and help for those paints. Do you know if they have a shelf life or expiry?
@lureblanks3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, the reason why createx sells the 4011 and 4030 separately is for a longer shelf life. Combine these 3 and your shelf life will be significantly shorter. But separately they go a long way 👍 ofcourse you can poor the leftovers back in the bottle, the mixture is so small and when mixed with the paint in the bottle again it will not change the shelf life on your paints

thanks so much... one question, I use createx color but not wicked. how should I mix them? same 4011 product or something else? thanks
@lureblanks3 жыл бұрын
Depends a little on every color, black colors could be a little thick and others a little thinner. The best is to experiment a little and see what works the best fornyou with every color 👍 because even wicked black and wicked detail black are thick while other colors in the same range are thinner and need less Thinning. The best is to experiment and if you encounter any problems you can always contact me 👍

Tech data sheet states when mixing paint,4011 and 4030 to let mixture sit for 10 + min. to chemically bond before spraying.
