while watching this video i kept thinking to myself that this slayer is such a nice model and i'd love to have one... and then it hit me i actually got the same exact miniature more than 20 years ago and i've been using it as a dragon/demon slayer since warhammer 5th edition. Good job brain!

Great stuff, one of the best miniatures ever sculpted by the prolific Aly Morrison, can’t wait to paint mine. Yours looks stunning! I really recommend using Bugman's Glow as your base colour for Dwarf skin, great colour and great coverage that suits the ruddy Dwarf complexion. One of the few Citadel paints that is still among my most used paints.

When you look at the quality and care of the contents each little Quest box. I miss the 90's (well workshop 90's). Funnily enough have the imperial noble still in his blister and seeing as its Friday I may crack it open and at least get it undercoated. Also love the fact your mum still gets you minis! I just get socks and chocolate on my birthday.

I bought as many of the expansions as I could get my hands on which unfortunately for the characters wasn't much. I have the Warrior Priest and Swashbuckler and I think that's it. I've always wanted the Bretonnian Knight and finally ordered the mini on MTO earlier this year. The Witch Hunter was great as well if I remember correctly. WHQ was an easy game for us hobbyists to get non-hobbyists into. We played every Friday or Saturday and the players loved how their characters leveled up and got stronger.

@intzbk1 yes have the witch hunter and priest painted for my mordheim band along with the dogs of war one. Lovely minis the classic hammer horror style hats were brill compared to the witch Hunters you got with mordheim at the time. Trouble is they have been living on my windowsill for the past decade and a bit faded. May strip them down and tart them up again.

@@the_lichemaster Nice! Most of my Mordheim band are new miniatures except the flagellents which are old Chaos Maurauders with flails painted not so chaos-y. We just got done with about a year long Mordheim run. Next I'm going to have them try the Lost Relics game and if they like that then Blackstone Fortress or Silver Tower I think.

On today's instalment of Anvil of Doom paints my childhood... My older brother used to run the Slayer when we played Warhammer Quest. I remember 12 year old me being really disappointed because the only other box they had in the shop was the Imperial Noble (which i liked even less when I started playing him). Happy to say I managed to get hold of the Ranger and Wardancer boxes not long after. This looks absolutely stunning. Have to admit, was a little sceptical when you started painting green on his axe, but it works and I really love how it turned out.

4:55 Old hair is easy to paint. Just use the side of the brush so that you only touch the raised edges and not the shadows. Way easier than the smooth 3d designed hair.

In the end the hair came out wonderful, which is what really matters. To expand on my previous comment. The old sculpted hair is easier to paint since you can use the side of the brush instead of drawing the hair texture yourself. Think of it as more targeted drybrushing, instead of freehand. @@anvilofdoomminiatures

I use a pretty cheap LED lamp but I’m probably going to splurge and upgrade to a Red Grass Gaming lamp very soon! Check them out, they look pretty good from what I’ve seen so far. I hope that helps! 🙂
