This is a hobby you can do forever. I keep everything I buy, painted or not. I’ll eventually get to it.
@rgbminiaturesАй бұрын
Yeah that’s true, it just bothered me having a backlog
@WinstonCorneilius29 күн бұрын
@@rgbminiatures understandable. I’ve got a HUGE built and primed backlog. I enjoy building them and buy them starting at me they force me to eventually paint them lol

Looks like you've made a nice dent in it so far mate! Loving the gsc paint scheme, and I hope for your sake you get them all done in time, lord knows I'd hate to give any of my pile of shame away
@rgbminiaturesАй бұрын
Yes definitely made a small dent in it! Will have to concentrate on the units I’ve got a few completed models for and go from there.

Agree. i have a huge pile of "potential", and i am never giving away or selling any plastic kits, becouse GW plastic is expensive. Imo there should be no shame label on unpainted minis, rather for me, who paint an hour or two a few days a week, i love to know that i have a reserv of models for those days i just need to escape reality for a while, go into my painting bubble listening to an audiobook or something while painting. So keep your pile of potential, no reason to give it away!

First 10 seconds of the video and I’m so excited to see how you paint that terminator librarian
@rgbminiaturesАй бұрын
Yeah I’m quite looking forward to that one, still not sure whether to paint him in the traditional librarian colours or do something different
@anotheryoutubeuser5379Ай бұрын
@ while it’d be cool to see your take on a lighter blue armor, you could do what the one apothecary did in “The Tithes” animation and just make it all your own chapter color. The shoulder pads would follow the rules though. Just a thought

Not a bad idea, I’ll have a think

First of all, I love your content! The way I tackle problems (piles of shame) break it down! Do some of the easier stuff to get it off you list! The more things ticked off the more motivated youl be! So smash the tyranids out and reward yourself with the big one! Then poof all the nids done and something big is of your list! Then the guard! Then a squad and a hero as a reward! Before you know it your pile is gone and your list is complete and time for some new awesome minis! ❤ 😊

Your doing well, I put a dent in mine, goal was to get my Necrons on the table which I did. My Imperial Guard army is a coupe of command squads from being tabletop ready. Next year is to finish my death Guard army, including Mortarion.

Keep on chugging along mate! Progress is progress! And all of it looks great 👌 Currently dealing with my own Sternguard hell. Why did I get 15 of them?!
@rgbminiatures27 күн бұрын
Cheers mate! The sternguard are really nice models though I can definitely understand why you’d want 15. At some point I’d like to get another five so I can make a full ten man squad

Let’s be honest here, who has actually let their pile of shame become a single kit of shame? I haven’t. The fear of having no more minis to paint or projects to look forward to is far scarier than overwhelming potential that may or may not have made me homeless.
@rgbminiaturesАй бұрын
If it’s made you homeless it’s definitely an issue!

@@rgbminiatures lol nah was just exaggerating. Painting and kitbashing minis pays a chunk of my bills so quite the opposite.

You CAN do it in time, but from my own experience (i have a ton of unpainted grey plastic), is to not look at any other projects, and to not look at the whole mass of unpainted plastic. Its a bit like you cant see the forrest for all the trees. take 5-10 models, and batchpaint them. When you have reached your lever of detail (battle ready, parade ready etc) call it done and move on to the next 5- 10 models or big model. This is how i reached the finish line with my ork and tyranid 2000p armies in weeks. And not to brag, but all of my models are painted to a high standard, characters to a very high standard. This was done by first reaching a set mile stone goal for my whole "army", call it battle ready or higher with shades and highlights. After every model had reached that mile stone, i had an army i could play a 2000p game with, i then took an hours a few days a week to just increase the definitions and up the quality of detail on my models. Also there is no shame in using a primer or sprey color if you can find one, with the color you army is mostly going to be in. Like a good red for a Blood Angels, a dark green for Dark Angels etc, to get the base or majority color of your minis done quick, if you can find one. I base painted my entire Space Wolves army using Army painters Wolf Grey primer. Its is good enough as the main base color. Spraying it black, grey or off white would just have added time to that project. So if you can find a spray that does the majority of the paint for you, do it. Its way easier to modulate shadows and hightligts with a wash or glazing, than starting from a dark primes and then having to base paint and do all the other steps after that. Tip for every person new to the hobby. And if you are thinking about painting "tan/white etc" models, with a dark primer, dont!

@@rgbminiatures i have watched a few of your videos, and i am in love with your space marines! crisp and smooth paint work, and the contrasting colors are amazing together. So most of my advice in my last post is more for people watching and thinking about getting into the hobby. Many (me included) tend to buy a whole army at once, or maybe half an army, not realizing the task it will be to get them painted. Every project, and or painter, have their own strategy for how to paint, and i am constantly shifting between spending hours on one model, before starting over on the next, to spraying every model in the base color for the army, then batch painting. There is no wrong way to go about it, it all depends on time, and the end result. Happy to watch your progress, i am now a subscriber!
