ok, if a hen and a half layed an egg and a half in a day and a half, how long would it take a monkey with a wooden leg, to kick the seeds out of a dill pickle?

I really do look forward to seeing these types of videos on this channel. I always feel like I gain a better understanding of these techniques which I am already somewhat familiar with. Really appreciate it.

I use this technique in my own web series and it works great. I let the camera continue rolling as I don't wanna move it, it's good to just film either before or after, I generally get a clean shot from before an after as I am a one man crew and hit record and then act. But it was informative to get an understanding of how to do it on a moving shot, I may try this.

I'm In LA and out of Texas for the first time in my life. Naturally I stopped by the hunter st studio all creepy like. After nerding out in the alley and under the overpass for a bit I bailed after a heroin use sighting reminded me to be on my way. No Corridor Digital sighting yet but the search continues.
@Kittyzord10 жыл бұрын
you know I don't even make movies, edit stuff or whatever and I have no interest of doing anything like that in the future but somehow I still watch all your technical videos just for fun. I guess it's entertaining ? :) love you guys xx

You guys really missed a great joke you could have done at the end. When you said "or Sam" you could have had him pop in from a painted out area. Just to take the piss a bit.
@TehFoxit10 жыл бұрын
Honestly.. I don't know how many comments and tweets I have left asking for this ;)! This is really great for beginners! I would like to see how a person could be painted out in an actual moving camera shot, that is where I face problems when working for clients, half the time I have to pay a VFX expert to do it for me. Anyways I am glad to see you guys teaching people the fundamentals! Keep up the great work :)

3:56 Just so people realise, this shot of Niko is taken from a camera mounted on the shoulder of a normal sized man. Basically, Niko is a giant with huge biceps.

easy way to do background painting if you've got a dolly: Do the same shot twice, once with and once without your subject, then go through and time stretch your backplate in after effects to match your foreground footage dolly speed. It only takes a few keyframes and is MUCH easier than rebuilding in 3D etc.
@bouchandre10 жыл бұрын
doing it in 3D is not as hard as you think. I do it often and it takes very little time. What you do is you take one frame of the shot in about the middle of the movement, you go in photoshop and paint whatever you need to replace, then you solve the camera in 3D, build very basic geo that follows the surfaces you need to paint out, then you project the painted stuff on the geo and there you go! You may also need to do some roto too. Of course After effects isn't really built for 3D stuff like this, so it's much easier to do it in Nuke.

Wait, so holding the camera in your hand and panning it around (but not physically moving from that place) is counted in a nodal pan too? I did a Megatron VFX shot which is up on my channel but while tracking I selected Free Move instead of nodal and it tracked just fine. Aren't nodal pans just pans from a completely still surface like a pan on a tripod?
