It may come handy: Using the move tool is possible to select the layer you want by holding Crtl and clicking directly in a pixel of the intended layer (sometimes it's faster than search on the layer tab one by one)

this is slightly too late but samurai girls wore their most beautiful kimono under the armour, and in fact their armour was specifically made to be smooth on the inside so no fasteners or anything would catch on the dress and tear it--the armour was called himeyoroi. This was so that if they died in battle they could be buried in their best clothes.

Christophe, re. your comment about wanting to do Groups with clipping masks applied, you can, instead, create a group which has a layer mask applied to the entire group. So, if you wanted to group all of the clothing together, for example, you could create a group called, "Clothing" with one master mask that applies to the group itself. Then, everything would be perfectly masked for you and organized by different things. Also, on your base, skin layer, you can lock transparent pixels as well, which will prevent you from being able to print outside of your initial skin layer. That would eliminate the invisible fragments you currently have. I THINK these solutions would help address your concern of being able to group things without having the explosion of all the excess paint reappearing.

Christophe hello. I have a technical question for you. I would be very grateful if you would take the time to respond. In this video, you spent 1 hour just doing technical work-painting the character with basic colors. There is a completely free for commercial use graphic editor like Krita. It has a built-in G-mic filter that allows you to lick the line to the perfect state in automatic mode in seconds. It has a Colorize mask, which allows you to do the work that you spent an hour doing in minutes. Also, Krita will automatically cut into layers depending on the color and group them into a group. Then you can go back to photoshop and continue rendering. Question - why not use a completely free tool that will save you an hour of working time?
