Most helpful. The skill of bringing out different textures and tone. Making it all beautifully interesting and not atall overwhelming green. THANKYOU

That was wonderful! I love hearing the birds and watching the sun light sparkle on your paper. And of course the way you paint it up and " live with it!" 😊

Beautiful! My mind wanders a bit to years we lived in north eastern Scotland and absolute beauty of the country side. I have decided to purchase both your books on Amazon - I think they’ll be a good resource in my studio and aid in my questions.

Thanks Susie. I’m sure you will enjoy the books. Let me know what you think when you have read them.

I very much appreciate this demo and like the way you have broken it down into parts instead of one long session. I am not able to attend any live demos so find this extremely helpful. I find the fact that you talk about why you do things as you go along as important as the fact that you do certain things and in a certain way. It is also helpful that you encourage us to do what we think works well for ourselves rather being constrained by hard and fast rules. Thanks again for all the time and effort that you put into these videos.

@@AndrewPittArtist Andy Evansen tell his student's that the backside is the right side. Before he knew the front with the regular pattern is really the right side. I paint on Bockingford Rough also on the back.

Thanks. Good to know. I only use Bockingford 200lb Not. Bockingford Rough doesn’t suit me for some reason.@@EdoHannema-Watercolour-Art

@@AndrewPittArtist To be honest, I don't think I reorder Rough Bockingford anymore. Just bought a pack not from 535 grams. Really nice to paint on. It's 250lb I think.

Frankly I find Arches Rough is hard to beat if I think a subject requires rough paper. I haven’t tried Bockingford Rough for a long time. To be honest it’s easy to blame the paper - it is usually me!@@EdoHannema-Watercolour-Art

Just love your demonstrations. How do you get the perspectives when doing en plein air?
@AndrewPittArtist Жыл бұрын
There are two types of perspective - Ariel and Linear. I probably exaggerate ariel perspective (cooler colours in the distance, for example). Linear perspective is a matter of drawing - keep measuring and comparing, paying particular attention to negative spaces. Hope this rather brief answer helps.

Wonderful.😊 Pl guide me when one has to add another colour to the brush - for instance already cobalt is on the brush, wantvto add a spec of raw sienna, is it necessary to wash the brush and then touch the next colour, or zi can straightawsy touch the next colour. Will this not contaminate the raw dienna cake on the pallette. Thanks for your guidance in anticipation.

I don’t bother to keep cleaning my brush between dipping into different colours. I’m more concerned about keeping track of the amount of water on my brush. I don’t want my colours to get more and more dilute. The colours do get a bit dirty but I don’t find it a problem.

Sorry for asking: what is brand a brush at 8:40?
@AndrewPittArtist Жыл бұрын
Most of my brushes are Chinese calligraphy brushes. I’m afraid they rarely have any numbers or print on the handle, and if there is any writing it is in Chinese. The brush you are enquiring about was just a small calligraphy brush with a plain handle. Sorry I can’t give you more information. If you scroll through the videos on my website you’ll find one which gives more detail of all my painting equipment and materials: www.andrewpitt.co.uk
