what glaze did you use? and how much to the acrylic paint?
@AbstractARTpaintings3 жыл бұрын
I use an acrylic glaze medium. Mixing glaze with paint depends on how much depth you want in the paint - more glaze, less depth; less glaze, more depth.

Thank you, I enjoyed really your work. Beautiful, the crackle effect is great. :) I tried the same Golden crackle paste on canvas. But after having letting it dry for 3 days I painted over it. After 4 more days some places the dried crackles loosened. It was a little disappointing... Do you have som ideas what I did wrong? Under the paste I had only used white gesso long time before I started working with the paste.... I also wonder; If you use satin glazing over gold, will the metall keep the original shiny gloss? :)
@AbstractARTpaintings3 жыл бұрын
Crackle paste will tend to flake off a bit so always seal it really well. Also, usually I let this type of medium dry for about 1-2 weeks for full effect (optional, but I find it's best). Satin glaze will tone down shine a little; use gloss glaze if you want super shine!

No, they are different mediums. Glaze provides a light glaze; gloss medium is thicker and provides more gloss/thickness to your paints.

Hi Kat - thanks! The brushes I'm using are from Michaels. They are super inexpensive and come in a set - www.michaels.com/craft-smart-large-area-flat-brush-pack-brown-taklon-3-count/10194241.html. I like these because they don't shed too much and I can just toss them when they get too old/used/paint dried in them!

darling ! Please remember to FOCUS your videos - others you have posted are the same and this is disconcerting AND frankly your camera work should be AS important as the painting given that your time [ AND mine ] is worth it - otherwise grateful for your tutorials , thank you. [ ps. i noticed you appear to not respond to a positive critique, as someone else mentioned the out of focus portion - i personally would be grateful if someone pointed out something that could be helpful to me , or are the little hearts only for the folks who compliment you....

You want a video in focus? Picky picky! LOL! 😲 I get it...and have improved (a bit) but hopefully you get the gist, idea, some semblance of what is transpiring and can look past the fact I'm giving out tips as an artist, not a professional videographer. Thanks for watching and your comments...it all gets filed on the "make better FREE youtube videos" to-do list.
