Love this. Retired American Soldier here. I served with the 506th in the 101st Airborne Division during the global war on terror. The 101st has an annual reunion where we were able to meet the “Band of Brothers” veterans. I’ve also had the privilege of being able to visit Normandy, Bastogne, and Berchtesgaden. Heck I was wearing my Screaming Eagles t-shirt this morning. Thank you.

Oh wow! Well you have my utmost respect, and gratitude for your service, especially as an army brat of the 80’s with a dad who served. But also how amazing it must of been to see and speak to the Band of Brothers veterans.!

Awesome! I come from a similar generation (52 yo) and same childhood experience - Longest Day and Bridge Too Far and Battle of Britain were annual events at home. Plus, too funny about the Quad Gun tractor and 25 pounder towed was a centerpiece of my army men, I had a metal die cast version, and the 25 pounder was spring loaded and you could shoot projectiles from it!

Always had a love of history and especially for WW2, and like you my grandparents were a large part of it. My grandad on my mom's side was a KOYLI in North Africa and we have a handmade Christmas card, handmade leather wallet from Tunis, his service card for when he was a KOYLI and then Royal Engineer, and the biggest being his war diary. Its all minimally written but has some really cool interesting stuff, not limited to but including fighting Fallschemjagers in North Africa and being in a victory parade with Monty, General Alexander, and Churchill in Tunis. I too have a Bolt Action army, my Market Garden British Airborne with some tanks and artillery from XXX Corps. Been thinking about making a second army, and honestly I might go out the box and grab some Hungarians or Italians just to be out the box and different. I also helped a couple friends get in with one collecting Germans and the other Gurkhas, and by helped I mean I bought them the armies they wanted and assembled and painted up for them XD I just love assembling and painting models especially the historical ones

I love that you just are "I'll paint miniatures, ANY miniatures". For me, WW2 minis are too real, and recent, and the thought of "gaming" with them makes me uncomfortable. That said, I enjoyed this video, and really think the models are quite good. Makes me want to buy a box for kitbashing with some Imperial Guard for an interesting Kill Team. Whatever the case, whatever you're painting, following your tips can EASILY translate to other miniatures. And also, I LOVE that you are totally not pigeon holed to any game system, you'll paint anything! (as long as they're human! LOL) Another great video - thank you Peachy!❤
@PeachyTipsКүн бұрын
Thank you, I’m sure I’ll get around to painting some monsters and gribblies soon lol. Also in regards to WW2 being to recent for you and makes you uncomfortable, I totally understand that sentiment, for me anything from the late 70’s onwards s onwards feels like that, so the falklands onwards just feels weird, and I think that’s maybe down to the period when my dad was serving. So I do understand.

Would love to see you do some Konflikt 47, Peachy! It's such a great setting, and Warlord seem to be giving it a lot of attention behind the scenes at the minute. It's also really easy to get into if you have an existing Bolt Action army, as all you need is to add, say, a unit of Werewolves to your German platoon, or a mech to your American platoon, and suddenly you have a Konflikt 47 army!

I saw a WW2 MP40 next to a Sten in the Resistance museum in Limoges in France (which is well worth a visit) You can see why they could churn out zillions of Stens by comparison with the MP40s.
