In this video I share my process of how I repainted my tired looking dining chairs. I pulled a color out of my carpet and mixed my paints until I found a color which I thought was uplifting. Tired of your leather dining chairs?? Before you even think about going out and buying new ones consider repainting with acrylic leather paint! This is so simple simple simple. If you tire of the paint color and want something more trending or your scheme changes simply paint over. You don't have to mix the paint like I did you could pick a color from the abundance of choices that Angelus has to choose from.

I didn't use alcohol or sand anything. Used this product to repair seat area on 2 different leather couches. Truly made them look brand new. I mixed several colors to get the correct shade. Used satin finisher.

Yes! It Angelus leather paint will work on “fake” leather or pleather as they say. Same application! Hey there, thanks for sharing your process. Your chairs turned out amazing. Question, i am considering painting a dark brown 3 seater leather sofa to white (or pink). It has never been painted before. Do i need to use the primer/ deglazer they sell? Or can i just wipe it down with alcohol and start painting? Also will i need as much of the top coat finnish as i do the paint. For example i believe i will need roughly three 4 oz bottles of the paint, so will i also need three 4oz bottles of top coat finisher? Thanks for the info! ❤

Hello! Your project sounds exciting. 👍I used alcohol for my sets of dining chairs as well as the red club chairs in my other video using Angelus paint. So the short answer is you could use alcohol. They all still look amazing. That will be a preferential call on your part. You won’t need the same quantity of top coat as you did for paint. ( maybe 1-1 1/2) Would love to see your before and after of your sofa. I too have a brown sofa ( two) soon to be white. 😀thank you for watching my channel! Truly appreciated❤️ As a side note according to the manufacturer Angelus paints once fully cured are waterproof. Your chairs turned out beautiful! Can you tell me approximately how many oz you used for them? I have similar chairs. But just the backs. The seats are upholstered.

Hi Cassy! I made approx 8 oz paint for two leather chairs. I made 2-3 hands of paint on the chairs. Some areas of chairs didn’t require as much attention for whatever reason. Thank you for watching 💯

Hi! Did you use any paint thinners? Or does it remain that runny by itself? I paint with acrylics and require water. Does acrylic leather paint also requires anything?

Hello! Acrylic leather paint by Angelus did not require any thinning. I didn’t use water at all except to wash out my brush. The foam ones I disposed of but I did keep the wooden part of the handle🤔 thank you for watching my channel. Appreciated ☀️

Hi Kelly! Thank you! Without seeing the chairs that’s challenging to tell you the quantity. I’ll give you examples though perhaps you can relate; for the red leather chairs and ottoman done a couple of months ago it took a bit under 3 bottles ( 4 oz bottles). For these dining chairs I mixed the paint to my own color however a rough estimate is 7 oz paint. It will depend on the amount of surface you need to paint, the condition of leather as well as if you are going dark to light, etc. Err to the side of more especially if you are mixing your colors😀. How long did it take from start to finish? Like your prep, the painting and drying?

Hello! It didn’t take long at all. I had quite a few interruptions as I had guests that weekend. However less than a days output for two chairs with very good weather. I think the longest part for me was mixing the paint to achieve correct color☺️ then trying it out on the chair. 5 hours no more.thank you for watching my channel. Appreciate it😍

How do you ensure exact match of the sample for making the main portion for the job?

Hi. 1. Take notes when you are making your sample. Limit the amount of color you are mixing. Then when you have a color you like go back and mix proportions again. (I was only using 3 colors)And then make a bit more than you think the job will require for the job may need a couple of coats and or touch ups. Hope this helps. Another tip is when you think you have the color and begin painting and let’s say it’s not quite right; take a small amount and color correct it; then go back and add that color to main paint vessel.
