That was a hell of a mess prior to you working on it, considering what you had to work with it came out pretty well. You made the body shops job much easier. I have to give you much credit for even attempting that job, I would have ran away real quick. Keep up the fantastic work and thanks for sharing. Your the best.

And I appreciate that. I don’t think he’s even gonna let the Body Shop fix I think he’s going to live with it honestly. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the support

I feel your pain my friend! Sometimes you just gotta cut your losses and move on but it always hurts. You gave it a hell of an effort and gained valuable experience and I'll bet the customer is happier than you may think too. You are one hell of a great tech bro! Respect!

Excellent effort Dennis. What you did still had value. But it is hard to charge for that when expectations are of perfection. PDR is one of the most humbling jobs. You’ll smash it next time.

Great video never the less. Thank you for showing the difficulty of these crushed quarter panels. So much of it was brought back including the long crease. Do you think that shrinking the metal with a hot box type wand from the backside of the panel would have helped with a cleaner finish ? Thank you for a great video. Frank in Montreal.

Probably would’ve but didn’t have enough time to continue. I undercharged and already spent too much time on attempt to repair

customer was happy on 2 accounts.... looks kinda ok and he didn't have to pay. It is painful when it does not come out as expected. I experience that pain way too often.

Firstly, I really enjoy your videos. I'm playing with DIY part time PDR. Of the people out there putting out videos and tutorials. My question is ....why not charge the client? It would seem in the business of repair, every job has an expectation. I'm in construction / welding, and have had similar things happen. It's rough and watching this video brings it home. Keep the videos coming. Thanks for putting yourself out there. Side note, I have always found it odd other professions (lawyers, doctors) do not have to have 100% success to qualify payment.
@DentBaron3 жыл бұрын
Good point. The reason for not charging is I set the expectations with the customer before starting the repairs. I did not expect the repair to come out this poorly so I did not meet the expectations we both agreed upon for the price. The customer offered to pay a portion and I did not accept. I have to make sure to always set an expectation with the customer for an agreed upon price.

@@DentBaron it's an honest take by a true professional👍 There is value in everything and don't seem yourself short. Customer offered something because he found value. Your worth it. Cheers...

Great. Thank you for your new video. I would like to ask you whether your job as the last events when you go to the customer's home is supplied by the insurance company or by private customers themselves. Thank you for answer Im looking forward your next video.
@DentBaron3 жыл бұрын
When I go to the customers home The repair comes from the customer themselves not the insurance company. They usually find me from my website, social media, or ads I do on Google,. Usually the first contact from the customer is through an email or a phone call. They reach out to me wanting an estimate

Once the edges are crushed I just say I will get as good as I can and charge. But I agree if you told him you can get out 100% I wouldn’t charge either. Another option is have customer take to Bodyshop and if you don’t get all of it make much less work for the shop
@DentBaron3 жыл бұрын
I should’ve walked away from this, but I wanted to try. I had a feeling it wouldn’t come out. Good idea though for other repairs

Thank you for sharing a video to which you could not fulfill your expectations. I have not charged several jobs that I did wrong from pdr. @MattTomovick573 жыл бұрын
i think you still should have charged. even though you have alot of repect and pride for your industry and you may feel that didn't live up to the standard , it also equally hurts the industry to work on a customers vehicle and walk away after 10 hours for nothing after making significant improvement. might as well stay away from anything large at that point because perfect repairs are few and far between on smashs ! love the videos!
