I've seen several of these videos and the guy demonstrating this gear deserves some work! He kills it and can play just about anything! Respect.

Hi Jonas, that's really nice of you to say so. The drummer is Nick Carter, great demonstrator/player, plus just top guy! Thank you for watching/ subscribing, best wishes DR

The reviewer looks very much alike Nolly from Periphery! Great review. Meinl dark crashes would be cool to see reviewed too.

Isn’t the ride at 3:03 a dark dry ride, not a Dry Ride?

These crashes are superior.

I love them but they are expensive. But Paiste does have better quality control and attention to keeping cymbal models consistent with each size and model whereas other companies can vary more in sound and be less consistent. I noticed that with Sabian XSR Monarch ride tend to be very inconsistent, one can sound great but another sound horrible. Paiste doesn't have that problem.
@asanmartinjr074 жыл бұрын
They're pricey because they are worth it. They have premium & consistent tones.

Paiste cymbals are also not cast and rolled like a Turkish cymbal. There’s pros and cons to each type of cymbal.

Who's the guy who demos for you? He looks like an accountant or something, but plays like a beast!

Paiste is the best! They are so musical sounding. That Mapex kit sounds killer too!!! Wow, who would have thought.

I started out on Paiste and played them for years. I switched to Zildjian for decades but usually with one Paiste 18” signature series fast crash most of that time but I am really starting to sway back to the sound of Paiste again. I bought a masters 20” mellow ride and it is the most beautiful sounding ride I have ever played and heard, if feels like butter under the stick and sounds beautiful! If you get older and want to do less work Paiste’s open up so easily and do a ton of the work for you.

These sound great. I’ve never been into the super bright clean Paiste sound, although I’ve never thought they sounded bad they just weren’t what I was looking for. If I was getting anything from Paiste, it would be these cymbals for sure. Pretty much all major manufacturers cover most grounds and these cymbals from Paiste would definitely be what I would lean towards. That 22” crash ride is a stand out one for me. Great review and channel 👍

I wish you guys could do the xtra thin crashes and the cymbal of all cymbals THE MASTER 22" SWISH. They are among my favorites that paiste puts out. Poor man's pocket,rich man's taste. Oh well ,we all have a dream. As a side note ,paiste does build some of the finest cymbals out there for what I want to hear.The problem I find is being able to spend that kind of money on a cymbal.This 22" inch masters swish I talk about street price is like $525.00. USA. Did they just make these for the recording artist.? NEWS FLASH,AND THIS GOES OUT TO ALL CYMBAL MAKERS.YOUR PRICING YOURSELF OUT OF THE MARKET.

Just save $50 a week til you can afford it. Worth it in my opinion.

Does anyone know how the Masters compare to the Signature series - sound-and feel-wise? They're similarly priced.
@crifox163 жыл бұрын
which signature series are you talking about? there are a few and they sound pretty different between each other. if you mean the original signature line, they're pretty different from the masters line, sig is b15 bronze and masters is b20 bronze. sig is generally bright but not harsh, have longer sustain and have a very pure sound to them, masters have a much more complex and darker sound and tend to be a bit drier than signatures. if you mean the signature dark energy line, to me it's a bit in between original signature and masters, still b15 bronze but a bit more complex than the original line. if you mean the signature traditional series, they're actually pretty similar sounding to the masters line, sig trads remind me of vintage zildjian k's in terms of sound and complexity
@marloforreal3 жыл бұрын
@@crifox16 Yes, I meant Masters vs. the original Signature series. I happened to have the 18" Full Crash and it sounds wonderful to me. I'm most interested in the Masters Hi-Hat, if it would actually cut through in a rock/metal setting. Thank you for the insight!
@crifox163 жыл бұрын
@@marloforreal i have the 18" full crash as well and i love it so much, hands down the best cymbal i've ever hit with sticks. masters hats should be fine for what you're looking for, might even be more helpful for recording purposes since darker cymbals don't end up on every other mic as much as brighter cymbals
@toddcapiton628511 ай бұрын
All sig full crashes sound killer. Sig traditional line only has a few jazz rides, I love them, more than the masters. The dark energy line is mind blowing. Check out the 15” hats, incredible, but holy shit are they expensive.
@toddcapiton628511 ай бұрын
@@marloforrealnot for metal. And you’d probably crack them. Then you would go into immediate cardiac arrest. Maybe dark energy 15” hats. Paistes best, easily, and not as light.

They sound amazing. I've never played in this Paiste series, but time to go play on them. I've been using 2002's or sigs, but usually a combo. There's Paiste, and there's everything else

I have the 16 17 18 Dark Crashes, 21 Medium & 22 Extra Dry. Wasn't Thrilled AT FIRST about the 21 But its Absolutely Grown on me. The 22 Extra Dry gives me Cottonmouth. Extra Dry is NO LIE but I Absolutely want a 22 Masters so I'm Think the Dark Ride should do the Trick. The Crisp seems a Touch too Heavy. My 21 & 22 Dark Energy will surely keep me Happy until I score another Masters.

They sound amazing however they cost more than the kit
@skyehorvath9063 Жыл бұрын
Expensive cymbals will perform total sound on a cheap kit, better than an expensive kit on shitty cymbals. An expensive well crafted cymbal can sound professional with the drummer playing paint cans. That’s just how it is.

My Paiste master's 21" dry ride is fucking amazing. I was a Zildjian guy, but now I find that Sabian artisan series and Paiste master's series is 10 years ahead of zildjian K/Constantinople etc..

Amazing wash-riding sound at 1:32 ! Is it 19" or 18" dark crash?
@richardpine80116 жыл бұрын
No it's the 22 thin. I have the 20 and 24 versions and they're super versatile. Great crash and light ride sound.
@bepoondrums70936 жыл бұрын
Thanks Richard, it's wrote in the video at 1:15 that those we hear at 1:32 are 18&19" dark crashes, while from 2:59 are 20&22" thin models.
@richardpine80116 жыл бұрын
I know but in the video you can just about see the 22 thin printed on the cymbal at 1:44. They labelled them wrong in the video.
@richardpine80116 жыл бұрын
At 2:52 the crashes are the same as 1:32. Masters thin 22 and Dark crash 19. But the wash riding youre referring to is the 22 thin.

Bang on review!! I didn’t enjoy the crash rides at all, they didn’t do a good job on either application. Wasn’t sold on the hi hats either. These are very expensive cymbals and in my opinion, are not worth the money.
