1st gens are always a mission to find parts for. Brake discs are another hard to find item. Gen 2 uses discs from other MMC models.

Hey man huge pajer mini fan here! Just did this job on my 1995 Pajero Mini VR2 yesterday, all OEM parts. I saw that you used a special tool to hold the sprockets in place? I have not seen that tool before and had to do it the old fashioned way. My question is about the tensioner, do you let the spring do all the tension or do you pry it with something to make the belt tighter and then tighten the tensioner in place?

Couple question for ya 1) when you impacted out the crankshaft bolt, was there a possibility of it turning the engine? Do you have to put them in gear or anything? When you do the final tight, how do you prevent the engine from turning? 2) when you replace the belt? I noticed that you use the tool to hold the camshaft in place? What’s the purpose of the tool? Is it to prevent the engine out of timing or is it to replace the cam shaft seal?

I usually jam a tool into the starter ring wedged up against the bellhousing and have a friend hold it while I tighten up the crank pulley bolt. You can do this by yourself but it’s better to be free and paying only attention to the CPB.

There cam seals ect on the bench you mention the oil pump seal but you dont show doing them. Was it magic of editing they just got done or you make call after u worked the timing kit had been done

Honestly I forgot to talk about seals. I normally only do them if there’s signs of leakage , the oem seals are actually really good.
