@@alltsab If I'm having the rear seal done is there any other seal that might need replacing? I heard someone mention an o-ring that is close. Do you know which one? I have a 99 Accord with 125K. I want to have it fixed. One mechanic said it was too hard to do, because some grooves can form on the crankshaft. Another said it isn't hard with the lower mileage and a sleeve can be used if need be. I saw some mechanic on KZbin say that something fills in those grooves. Not sure. Thoughts?
@alltsab2 жыл бұрын
@@MyAnonymous2000 I'm kinda lost you here I'm not sure what seal or grooves you talk about. But let me tell you what I know only. If oil leak for 4cylinder Accord ok. You have camshaft seals, crankshaft seal which is front seal, and rear main seal which is you have to remove transmission to do it. Other then these seal than you have the VTech seal that all it. One more, if they have distributor then there is a seal at the distributor shaft as well there is not other things than what I mention here. If I'm not clear enough please ask thanks for the subscribe to my channel.

@@alltsab Thanks. I'll try to explain this. I subscribed. :) When I went in, the mechanic told me I had a rear seal leak. I agree, because I can see where it is coming from. It's by the transmission (bell housing) He said that he didn't want to repair it, because he has seen a groove on the crankshaft form from where the old seal leaves a groove. I also read that some o ring should be done when doing the rear seal. I think it was said to be near some plate. I really wish I were mechanically inclined. I understand the rear seal/crankshaft potential groove, but I had to watch a lot of videos to understand that one. Where is the V tech seal? I wonder if that's it.

I almost died with anxiety when you placed the boards on the car. The engine support bar relies on the grooves in the engine bay to avoid slipping sideways and causing damage or injury.... Glad you and the car survived.... not a lot of information available on this project. Thank you for sharing your experience

Thank you! I just replaced my engine and transmission in my '02 accord and apparently the guy who rebuilt the trans (me) accidentally installed the reverse lock up gear upsidedown. So now I have to pull just the trans (pulled both as a unit for the swap) and the excellent documentiation on this video will likely be saving me an hour or 2 of head scratching.

Yes I did but you didn’t show where the small hose that is on the transmission goes. You can see it in the video but not where it is connected.
@alltsab Жыл бұрын
@David Parker did you mean the little air hose on top the transmission?
@alltsab Жыл бұрын
That is clipse to the transmission hook or just clipse to any hose to make sure that is stand up that is just like bleed air hose from the transmission it doesn't connect to another hose.
@davidparker1091 Жыл бұрын
The little hose you see at 5.09 in your video. It comes off the transmission below the motor mounts. I usually take pictures when I unhook stuff but missed that one.
