Cap Dude. Do a simulation of Stormshadow missiles against Russian military concentrations from whatever range. They appear to be near 100 percent effective, as over 100 have been sent, most all of them succeeded. How are S-400, S-300, Pantsir and close range Russian AA defenses being breached so easily? You better bet that the Russians are manning these systems 24/7 and have been trained well (and a lot of experience involved in these systems). What makes the Stormshadow so effective????

Bangladesh started as West Pakistan after the partition of India. The Bangladeshis were ethnically different than East Pakistan and they started to want autonomy or independence from East Pakistan. The East Pakistan military started a genocide against the Bangladeshis and 300,000 were killed and 3 million were displaced. India had thousands of Bangladeshi refugees and it was becoming a humanitarian disaster so India invaded and kicked the Pakistanis out. What was most disturbing is the Pakistani military was more concerned with carrying out their genocide than fighting the Indians so India took 90,000 of them prisoner.

35:50 it was not Korean war, as there was no missiles back then. The first usage of AIM9B (back then called GAR-8) occured in 1958/09/24, when ROCAF secretly armed F86F with missiles provided by US Navy for testing purpose. a flight of 18 F86s was intercepted by Mig17s when attempting a recon mission above mainland China. the result of the battle was a decisive victory, they shotdown at least 9 Mig17s while damaging another 3 with no loss of their own. Some of the missile debris was collected on the ground and damaged migs and CCP sent it to the Soviets immediately.

I watched a recent Growling Sidewinder video where he piloted an Su-57 and rained "hypersonic" "7,000 to 8.000 MPH" R-37m guided missiles at 10,000 feet. Locked on the F-22 before the F-22 launched and smoked it easily. You should do a follow up explaining how an F-22 is such an easy target for a Su-57 in BVR.

I doubt these things are modeled accuratly enough in DCS to conclude anything about it in RL. That being said, stealth might not be as powerful as some might want us to believe. I think it is very effective against the thread it was designed against, particularly high frequency radars like deployed in fighter aircraft. But being stealth in high frequency bands doesn't mean you are stealthy in lower frequencys. Because of that, russians claim their lower frequency early waring radars can detect stealth planes no problem. Dutch install VHF radars to detect stealth on their ships. An american stealth bomber was shot down in 1999 over yugoslavia by an 50 year old russian SAM. So from my rudamentary understanding of it, stealth might be very effective against the specifc threat it was designed against, but it can't cover the whole spectrum. Its like figher planes radar is blue light, paint your jet red and it wont reflect that light, but shine a red light at it and its visible again.
@chuckfarley4130
@chuckfarley4130 Жыл бұрын
@@hernerweisenberg7052 How are you evaluating stealth as a metric? Even the Russians best ground based radars are being shown to be ineffective against simple HIMARS and Storm Shadow strikes. Imagine a real stealth plane vs an airborne Russian jet trying to counter with an even smaller radar system.
@hernerweisenberg7052
@hernerweisenberg7052 Жыл бұрын
@@chuckfarley4130 Look, im not claiming to be an expert in radar tech, but i do have a physics education and i am an electronics technician by trade who worked in the defence industry befor. Just sharing my two cents. So the issue as i understand it with lower frequency long wave radar like russian early warning radar is that they can detect stealth, but it is very hard to get an accurate target solution with long wave radar. So it doesn't rly matter if they can detect stealth, because they can not pass on targeting data to their SAMS, at best they can vector in fighter to intercept. But there have been advances in that lower frequency radar recently, as i mentioned the dutch have installed similar systems on their most modern ships, and the company producing them claimes that their radar can both detect stealth and supply a targeting solution. As mentioned befor, stealth against high frequency fighter or SAMS radar does not mean stealth in other EM spectra.
@hernerweisenberg7052
@hernerweisenberg7052 Жыл бұрын
@@chuckfarley4130 As for my 1999 yugoslavia example, granted, that F-117 that was shot down was among the first stealths and rather primitive compared to modern stuff, but that SAMS that shot it, being many dacades older.... its age and its lowerd frequncy radar might have had something to do with it. Only circumstantial evidance ofc.
