We waited so long to have a good government in Pakistan so finally we have one, very proud of it. Under the leadership of Great Imran Khan we can see a new Pakistan is in the making. Good Job Qureshi Sahab, keep up the good work. I hate those so called leader who brought Pakistan at the verge of bankruptcy. Prime Minister Imran Khan'll bring the country out of the crises. Those criminals have nerves to criticize an honest leader and his team, not to mention the mess they have left for the new government. Hope they should be brought to justice ASAP. Love you Imran Khan.

Till this year 2018 20th SAARC summit India shamelessly boycotted this summit (so much of solving regional issues huh!!) Pakistan prime minister on this first victory speech specifically addressed India that it will go two step forward if India takes one step in peace process direction specifically on Kashmir issue but recently India again shamelessly refused and cancelled a talks between foreign minister at UNGA on International Peace Day #irony Next time do little bit of research (which is also healthy for your peanut brain) before jumping into sweeping conclusion… #Peace

The FM Makhdoom Shah and his party PTI is the last hope for Pakistan and the people have voted for a change and they expect that PTI will deliver. PTI has taken over only month ago and they are planning for taking care of the hopes of Pakistan. Islamic radicalism is a reality in Pakistan but this does not mean that Pakistan cannot deal with it. There are ways and means to handle this issue. One must remember, Islamic radicalism is an international issue and has to be tackled by all the nationals of the world. Most of the Islamic radicalism is supported by some neighboring puppet governments in the region and this is get attention of their people away from their home problems. Once this kind of foreign support to Islamic radicalism stops, things will get better. If we need to make this world livable, everyone needs to contribute its share. So far Pakistan alone has been paying the price which is unfair by any standards of peace. The Indian PM in her demeaning speech in the General Assembly ridiculed Pakistan and if this is the attitude of Indian government, little good can be expected for the sufferer on both sides of the border. Pakistan has been split by India and it is trying to split it again. This type of planning is dangerous and it will result in a disaster, neither country could afford. One needs to appreciate that neither country can afford misadventures. It is in the fundamental interest of both neighbors to live like good neighbors and stop this dirty politics only to win votes, political mileage and keep dragging in the government forever. Live and let live.

To Mr Ishan Sharma; 14:00 - Religious radicalism is a chronic problem that has nothing to do with this government, it started when the US, sponsored religious extremist seminaries to get them to fight with the USSR forces in Afghanistan along with Saudis who had their own wasted agenda of turning Pakistan into a Wahhabi state, when the US interest fulfilled they left Pakistan alone, and Pakistan had to go throw all the aftermaths without US support. 19:00 - No, Pakistan's help was so crucial and Decisive to fight a war in Afghanistan that the US lifted all the sanctions it imposed after the Nuclear test in 1998. Had there been no Pakistan support, they were not able to even enter their forces into Afghanistan. Your media didn't tell you but a complete Airbase was given to the US and from there they carried out air strikes inside Afghanistan. In response, Afghan Taliban crossed borders to Pakistan. as it is a mountainous border and cannot be monitored easily they made a safe haven in Pakistan's Tribal belt along the border and started terrorist attacks inside Pakistan. Pakistan lost 50,000 people in these attacks. Also, without Pakistan support the US could not have even fed their army in Afghanistan nor could they have any alternate military supply route. What Pakistan got in so-called aid, Pakistan actually lost billions of dollars in economic losses as well as loss of Human lives. What you don't want to accept is the fact that every nation has their own interpretation of terrorism that suites their interests. For example, The US never say a word about Saudis busy for decades to finance Saudis Wahhabi sect's religious schools across the world. Even, Taliban were considered as freedom fighters when they were fighting with the USSR for securing the US interests. Similarly, India never says a word about how India trained Mukti Bahni to fight with Pak Army in Bangladesh in 1971. And how Indian terrorist organization RSS whose political wing is currently ruling, elected by the "peaceful" Indians. And how Kashmiris are being raped and their man are brutally tortured to death, how their eyes are targetted with pellet guns by the Indian army. Usama bin Laden was never a Pakistani asset even though before 9/11 Taliban were and it was needed due to Afghanistan's hostile relations throughout the history, they were the only one to voted for Pakistan not to enter into the UN as a member. Had there been no Taliban, Indian Influence could have grown so much that they could fight a war with Pakistan from both east and west Pakistani borders. Things changed after the Nuclear test from both India and Pakistan as it made it very hard to go for all-out war. Usama was never noticed living there because of his lack of movement, intelligence failure takes places everywhere, as in Mumbai attack people crossed the Indian sea came inside Mumbai and attacked yet Indian intelligence agencies didn't notice their movement. 27:00 Pakistan made mind against terrorists, not freedom fighters, Kashmiris are not a state who can fight wars, the only way they find to deal with the Indian state terrorism is to retaliate. Burhan want is no different from those freedom fighters fought against the British for the Freedom of India. Pakistan has been and will always support Kashmir cause. According to the UN Kashmir is not a part of India but a disputed territory and it was Indian prime minister Nehru who went to the UN and agreed upon a plebiscite. If Kashmiris remain calm would India turn their land back to them? No, they'll never do that and this is why Kashmiris have to fight for their independence. 32:00 SAARC can't do anything if there is no will to eliminate major conflicts that are causing unrest. 30:00 If there is no UNGA involved what crap will come out from the talk can already be assumed. It was Indian Prime Minister Nehru who went to the UN. Kashmir is a disputed territory and if India thinks it will be so economically powerful that it will dictate the UN then it will only drag the region in mutually assured destruction.

There were so many missed opportunities w.r.t to hearing more about how China + CPEC and how they affect the US-PK relationship, as well as, to get the MoFA's opinion on claims about the Pakistan military's role in the recent elections. The Host could have been more proactive on calling out the incorrect claims that the MoFA made and provide the audience with factual context for subjects like the IN-PK relations, but instead he was very docile and the whole talk wafted a sense of bias rather than being objective and unbiased.

Such an erudite discussion of Shah with a John Hopkin’s venerable professor of international relations - A visible distinction from a small set of economists/political scientists/IRs - a breed of Harvardians, MITians and Scholars of Jhon Hopkins that Pakistan has spent millions of dollars on, or few who attained grants in the name of serving their countries by actually pledging to change policy course of the country to make it a better developing country, after completion, till now are failing, not only in remodeling economy or politics of this country in all these years but couldn’t even propose to restructure any basic policies (economy/health/education/employment), a huge loss for this nation! After spending years of education till completion of PhDs but still that learning curve seems invisible, hence no reformation in policies since policy research lacks linkage with actual policy. But after viewing this discussion, at least, its assured Pakistan’s foreign policy agenda is in good hands now! What Shah began with, there couldn’t be a better explanation of nexus of good governance, local politics and political economy of the country to peace process not only at national level but regionally. It’s a blessing yet could posit a critical challenge in terms of balancing regional politics especially in terms of forming neo ties with two irrational neighbors, though global politics believe the resolve is dialogue not cold wars or proxy asymmetric conflicts (as a result of insurgencies). Pakistan’s national peace is the key to Regional Peace of Asia, hence to the economic growth of not only Pakistan but concurrently boost every other economy in particular South Asia. And for those who think its always “stick” just add “carrot” in the equation of peace. WARs aren’t the answer to restore peace. Hence as a partisan with an advanced new WORLD ORDER of first world and second world, the peaceful political dialogues within third world (Asia), with the intervention of regional leading economies i.e. China and Russia can ensure succession of political issues’ resolution with transparency of implementation of outcomes of such dialogues among Pakistan-Afghanistan-India. These three neighbors need to feed it to their skills this golden rule of walk the talk, or no one can achieve any economic prosperity, so fix it don’t mess it! Another important point to ensure environmental policy regime in Pakistan, a great perspective, and with a huge future scope of Tsunami of billion Trees campaign to abate ambient (air) pollution vis-a-vis solid waste management at district/city/union council level, but it can only impede pollution at surface level. On pollution canvas there is a much sporadic spectrum of pollution extending exponentially to water based pollution, and so its eradication most importantly related to contaminated “WATER “, hence an important element that was missing, what needs to make an inclusive environmental policy!!! What about measures to control liquid pollution? A big question mark still remains while the big industrial cities Faisalabad, Sialkot, Karachi, Lahore, where all liquid chemical waste either goes to rivers, sea, canals, local water bodies or is absorbed in soil/land. It’s a huge environmental threat, and hygiene/health hazard that haunts a next generation, which firstly impacts plants, crops and livestock directly, and lately a silent killer for local nearby population who consumes such crops or water indirectly. Every one out of three people in Faisalabad is inflicted with hep-C and same ratio goes for lung diseases especially among textile workers. Many newborns have bones deformity in industrial areas where presence of phosphorus is predominant in liquid waste contaminating water bodies or soil in periphery, Similarly Leather Tanning industries in Sialkot with liquid waste filled with lead/arsenic and many more pollutants are massively impacting local community health. Where exporters can only afford individual treatment plants - which btw they run only if a third party audit team is sent by their international buyers, otherwise rest of year remain nonfunctional! A huge challenge they say is, it’s futile to treat water before disposal when rest of the industry remains in active in this regards and have legal immunity. All environmental audits by EPAs are non-prolific since initial EIAs approvals at the time of startup give them legal cover, and then environmental officers have a set pattern of earnings on monthly basis which they say as “imposing fines” but in actual amount of fines is so negligible to profits of any industry that it hardly is effectual in terms of making them compliant to environmental codes/regulations. Grounds are industry can afford combined treatment plants by forming small industry clusters but ultimately regulating it is Good Environmental Governance, A Policy JOB!!!
