TEDxHUP -- Orya Maqbool Jan -- Pakistan Has a Rich Culture @ Hajvery University

Mr. Orya Maqbool Jan -- Columnist, Senior Journalist, expressed his desire for a country where people owned their culture, identity and language. He added that only technological and economic development could not ensure success. He said Pakistan should follow the example of Iran, a country that he said, had stuck to its language and culture and was all the better because of it.

I am a Ph.D. Scholar in Beijing, China.I love my country and language. The Chinese language is losing very fast against English. The big cities lost Chinese culture at a very high rate and western culture is dominating. The English language is getting more and more popular in Chinese uinversites. We need to think this matter carefully . Same is happening in Garmeny now more and more German universites offering more and more English base degrees

So when they spoke they used to add some of their own language word. So it became the language of Muslims of India. Because it was spoken by foreigner Muslims. Urdu is an Indian language by the way, Urdu is the language of the Muslim populace of North India, it is not the language of the region which is Pakistan today. Urdu has its roots in Sanskrit, n it is 80% Sanskrit, with rest of the loanwords from arabic, persian n Turkish

@@tjmiani I believe it is the Pakisanis who have "Khush fehmi" about Urdu. Less than 5% of ALL Pakistanis have their mother tongue as Urdu. At best Urdu is an adopted second language of Pakistan which (Urdu) was also a "DIRECT" reason (lisaaniyaat, if anyone of today's generation remembers the history) for the partition of Jinnahs Pakistan into Bangladesh and today's remainder of West Pakistan that has loaned the word of Pakistan from Jinnahs partitioned Pakistan, is this not True?

​@@pamtam1 it was originated in India but doesn't belong to hindu natives of India, infact urdu is the legacy of the muslims of subcontinent and rightfully belongs to the muslims wether they are from Pakistan or India besides we Pakistani preserved our literary heritage through making urdu national language and lingua franca of Pakistan. For your kind information Urdu and Islam in subcontinent are deeply connected which is exactly why Urdu invariably has the the status of the official language of madrassas in indo-pak All the major writers of urdu language were muslims, they developed and promoted it besides, the two nation theory was also presented in urdu and the spirit of independence in Muslims was also infused through the language of Urdu Before partition Islamic khutbas were given in Urdu language in the mosques of Punjab Urdu script takes us closer to arabic language, all muslims learn to read quran and by learning to do so they can easily speak and write Urdu our ancestors were clever enough to take a far sighted decision unlike you indians who steal arabic origin urdu words and shamelessly try to assimilate them in hindi and later on label those words as hindi😂 😂 Cry elsewhere please, it's a language developed and promoted by muslims for muslims
