IMPORTANT: the man I refer to who called twice on the phone and then came to my hotel room was a guest of the hotel who wanted to "spend the night with me" because he said I was nice to look at and so we wouldn't be lonely since he was also alone. He was a "stalker" ... not the police or anyone harassing me for any other reason other than disgusting fantasy. I think I didn't make that clear in the video when I said it... I let the hotel take care of him, they knew him and his job. The hotel management contacted his superior and shared the CCTV footage to his boss. I'm guessing he regrets it.

Nice to hear from you. You are too kind to say that you’re nobody and the police was making way out for you where you could wait for people since you were not a celebrity. But, unfortunately the fact is: that women alone regardless of where they are from might be little unsafe if left alone in crowd of men be it to be Pakistani women or be it be a foreigner. Maybe it’s more for a foreigner because she is not well equipped of the ideas to be safe in specific surroundings that’s why police was helping you and eventually Pakistan itself as you said. And, I really hope that once all becomes safe not only for Pakistani women but also for foreigners. I’m glad for your good memories at the place 🌷

I do have one observation a common theme to me seems to be that you have gotten such warm welcomes and lovely hospitality not only because you are a guest but a "foreign looking" guest. As you saw there were no women around you. None in camel racing none resting in the police station and none being escorted by the police. I was there a decade ago, when it was much more dangerous but no one offered anything like you got because I'm half pakistani and i didn't bring my whitening cream hence different treatment;) Don't misunderstand me, you are lovely and sweet. I'm just talking about their double standard! Keep the videos coming!:) And I'm glad you are safe:)

Here's a little background why there were ATF escort in Bahawalpur because there have been a few seminaries in Bahawalpur that were a problem shortly after 9/11 and the 10 dark years for Pakistan from 2004-2014 and those Bahawalpur seminaries were involved some times. I get that its safe now and tbh there is no need of those escorts now, but it sends a message to people like them. As far as i know the escorts start from Multan into South Punjab and some parts of Sindh, but whats funny is if you went to Karachi and then go into interior Sindh you wont be given escorts so you missed a trick there, because the escorts are with you since Multan they're like might as well just tag along all the way to Sindh. But the Sindhi culture and Pakistani culture overall is such that they'd give their own live before they let anything happen to a guest if they can do something about it. Also as for recommendations for you that you asked for like UNESCO sites etc id say you SHOULD go to Swat and Malakand to visit Takht-i-Bahi and other Buddhist sites. Watching your videos from Chicago.

Every city has its own security dynamics. In smaller cities, un populated roads and remote areas, there might be some security issues not because of terrorists but due to some local robbers and drug addicted people in certain time frame during whole day. To avoid snatching activities, they are trying to give you security escort. Police is short of security personnel that's why anyone available from any department can be deployed with you. In todays world, unfortunately problem of woman's harassments are increasing day by day. Baluchistan has few security issues due to our dear friend India. But hoping that your trip to Baluchistan would be safe. Consider security escorts as a part of your travel team and treat all of them as your friends and teammates. You missed Kartarpur corridor, Nanakana sahab, Panja sahab and Katas Raj. António Guterres (UN Secretary-General) also visited Kartarpur during his visit to Pakistan.

You will find those creepy dudes every now and then. Sexually frustrated individuals are everywhere. Hollywood kinda made western woman easy to flirt with, so this perception is making these stalkers do such horrible things. I would suggest you to call for help from people nearby, just in case. The morons are small in numbers but they will wait like serial killers to pounce on you, so beware and ask for help from whoever is nearby, people will take care of such individuals. Stay Safe.

Any negative expirience how little it might be can deeply hurt. Even though you might have noticed here women have many rights the laws doesnt force them to wear headscarfs or other things that are restricted in other countries. But still we have people who have never traveled abroad and can think someone who is traveling alone might need acompany. There is nothing to be worried just be little conciouss about these thing.

The police escort for cities (such as Bahawalpur, Sukkur etc) which are not visited by many tourists are part of SOP. Like the SOPs in plane where they demonstrate what to do if plane falls in water does not really mean that the plane will fall in water but they just demonstrate. Likewise, police escort does not mean these places are really unsafe but its as a safety precaution, Police does its best. & yes we never know a nut headed freak may cross the line and limit anywhere (like in your hotel) so sorry for that as a Pakistani. Have a safe trip. Cheers!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. As much as I appreciate the Pakistan government for the free security detail, I really feel it is stupid of Pakistan government to assign a police escort to every individual foreign traveler - it is simply NOT scalable. What will happen if tomorrow 10 thousand + foreigners start visiting these places at once? It simply won't scale. What I am saying is: Pakistan government worries too much. Smart travelers like you know where to go and where not to and most travelers (I hope) that visit developing countries do the same. I have relatives in the US telling me there are areas they themselves would not go to let alone tourists. Same for other places. While the Pakistan government has done some amazing work making Pakistan safe, and continues to do so - they need to focus on what they can do so that the security can be provided on a scalable level. I just don't get the whole assigning an escort to every traveler - it sends the wrong signal, and is too expensive economically speaking. Best wishes!

I don't know what that specific person was doing who came after you, but another traveller called Karl Rock also complained that the secret service (ISI) came after him. But I can certainly guarantee that the ISI guy may have just come to see if you're okay. Those guys are generally good at what they do, you won't always notice them

No ... he called and wanted to have sex with me. Is that what you thought? I need to re-edit this video :-(

I've added this note to the text now >> IMPORTANT: the man I refer to who called and then came to my hotel room was a guest of the hotel who wanted to "spend the night with me" because he said I was nice to look at and so we wouldn't be lonely since he was also alone. He was a "stalker" ... not the police or anyone harassing me for any other reason other that disgusting fantasy. I think I didn't make that clear in the video when I said it...

Gentleman ! Correct your information , Karl was chased for his funny answers to the Army officer at Wagha border. While he is married to an Indian lady. So, in a way her set his grounds himself. FYI , after one year he is again in Pakistan these days. And enjoying his stay.

@@AngelaCarson the best way is to contact your embassy/ Federal investigation agency (FIA) or local Police(15) you feel threatened .
