Hi Sir, Good Explanation. My doubt is....Why Bonus tolerance not applicable to Geometric Tolerance applied to Feature? also what is the difference between the geometric tolerance applied to feature vs geometric Tolerance applied to FOS?

Sir the maximum material condition was dia 26 mm then how did the actual mating envelope become 27 mm?

if you put the straightness onto the FOS (so not onto the shaft surface) you override GD&T first rule, and you will have another bonus tolerance, in this case: 25 nominal + 1 upper tolerance for the local size + 1 for the straightness = 27 mm. The envelope is guided by both local sizes and form tolerances. Remember the local sizes still have to be in every section between 24 and 26. Tricky is when the shaft made to LMC so 24 mm it allows 3 mm straightness tolerance zone, because 1 mm straightness tolerance zone related to MMC. As I know this is way different in Europe ISO, because here we have to use envelope as a modifier symbol and in ASME there are a tons of envelope method which are meant to be default. To be honest I better like ASME, here in Europe we have hundreds of standards of which topics are written in the ASME Y14.5. The envelope also a method I do not know why Europe do not wanna use as default. If I am wrong let me know.

The mating envelope can't be. 26+1= 27 as it will overrule the fos

Bonus Tolerance is the difference between MMC and actual size, when MMC is applied Bonus Tolerance is the difference between LMC and actual size, when LMC is applied

Does “bonus tolerance “ exist in ISO or just in ASME ?
@MrSipi1988
@MrSipi1988 3 жыл бұрын
in ISO the envelope also not a default thing so with a marking like that I am almost sure that is not existing. With another marking it could be, but I don't know that.

Hello Sir, My doubt is that, Essentially Bonus Tolerance when combined with any geometric tolerance at FOS is same as datum shift when that has same geometric tolerance at FOS. Am I correct?
