Becareful of what you order. Rice roll is made in their kitchen. But Shrimp dumpling is made in a Chinese factory shipped in frozen container to USA. You can buy the same dumping from your local Chinese grocery store.

My family is Cantonese and I’ve lived in Hong Kong / Guangzhou / SF Bay Area most of my life. Certainly understand that food tastes are subjective, but I’d highly recommend returning to this place. The service has improved significantly since opening. Also while expensive, the dim sum and other dishes I’ve tried here far exceed other options such as Tim Ho Wan and Ping Pang Pong. The preparation at Palette is much more contemporary compared to those restaurants and may not be for all. However, from my experience eating here on several occasions, the food quality is on par with the Dim Sum you will find in Richmond and the SF Bay Area - likely the best you will find in Chinatown Las Vegas.

Dim Sum prices have exploded with inflation. Have to limit visits now. Rainbow Grill, New Asia BBQ, ping pang pong at Gold Coast, Tim Ho Wan at Palms. KJ in Rio, Dim Sum Cafe, Orchids Garden are probably better options for locals. Do we need another expensive dim sum spot ?

People are complaining the price because what their experience of having a Chinese food was in a mom and pop restaurant. They never went to this modern fusion kinda type fancy Chinese restaurant. I saw one commented about this restaurant charge gai lan for 18 bucks. My question is why are you guys think an American restaurant charge 18 bucks for Brussels sprouts is acceptable? What is so special about that Brussels sprouts dish? Because you guys think Chinese food doesn’t worth as an American food?
@franklyvegas7 ай бұрын
So what is so special about their gai pan to charge $18 for it? Which is something that costs $3 retail (not even wholesale) and takes 1-2 minutes to blanche? We’re not sure what’s the point of mentioning $18 Brussels sprouts. You’re also over-generalizing “American food” which spans a wide range from dollar menus at fast food places to white linen seafood and steak houses. Nobody is debating that Chinese food can never be priced highly. There are plenty of Chinese entrees that have been in demand with high price tags for decades, found in LA, SF, NYC, and even Las Vegas. And people are willing to pay for it. Also, I suppose what’s considered modern and fancy is in the eye of the beholder. We’re more than willing to open our wallets for an experience that’s worth it. That goes for Chinese, Vietnamese, French, Indian, American places, etc But we aren’t alone in pointing out subpar service, dirty bathrooms. If you check your favorite dining review site, others are speaking up as well. Although we may be the only ones mentioning the plastic fantastic furnishings.

I would argue SGV has the best Chinese food in the country so you're certainly an expert on dim sum. That and you've already eaten in Guangzhou 😀
@franklyvegas6 ай бұрын
SGV certainly has a wide variety of very good Chinese food, even though a certain celebrity chef thinks otherwise 😂. I do miss the dimsum experience from the 80s-2000s in SGV though. It was everywhere, it was super cheap, dimsum carts galore, and a wider variety of establishments: everything from pick up counters to elaborate, massive banquet hall style. And the vibe was different back then, unique in its own right. Eating “zao cha” in GZ was an eye opener to say the least. We’ve also eaten in a few other regions over there, in addition to spending time in Taiwan, South Korea, etc for work

In this video he talks about this place palette tea lounge and Dim-Sum,and when I go to a Asian place I won't pay for hot tea,and although the food looks appealing, and the presentation, the flavors don't tell me the whole story, and although the menu is not long, I don't like ordering Dim Sum off a menu, rather I am used to the waitress walking around with there carts,but this place doesn't look appealing, other than the decor, and they don't have traditional Chinese foods, rather more like CHINESE/AMERICAN STYLE, as I like traditional styles, simple and simplicity but looks can be deceiving, but that's OK, because I don't plan on flying to Vegas just for the food, and I don't gamble
