It's also like, if you have about 3 golds....you have them all. Gold is the kind of colour where it layers well with itself, so you can mix a few shades and get the desired effect. I felt this so strongly with the limited edition of the huda beauty palette, gold tends to look the same I don't need 50 of them

Also Canadian, yes shipping sucks. I get it though, it does actually cost a lot but it sucks more since we're next door. It's hard to support indie brands for that reason. Same applies for European brands to the U.S. I wanted to order a few shadows from Lethal Cosmetics in Germany. It costs $15 to ship, no matter what you buy unless you spend $130 (full palettes are $47-67). However, I have ordered from Zoeva and Evolve Beauty (a UK skincare brand that uses Deutsche Post), spent $50 and got free shipping. I want to try Lethal Cosmetics, but the shipping isn't worth it.

I tried to keep my buying as low as I could this year so I opted out of a lot of palettes. I found that if I let something sit in my basket for a day or two I did not have the same strong feelings of having to get it. Definitely the ND glam palette, the Colourpop tie dye palettes, etc.

Re: the Nikkie Tutorials palette, I felt like she had a cool concept but didn’t pull of the execution, the palette advertised a “bright side and a dark side” but the dark side had no real depth or “darkness” which I felt was a bummer. It could have gone smoky or grungy or earthy but instead it was just... a berry and a mid-tone brown and a continuation of brights :/

I totally agree; I think there would've been more interest if it catered to deeper skin tones, not just what looks dark on very pale people. I will add though; I did buy the palette, and I was surprised that there is more pigmentation and richer tones than what the promo photos showed. The photos on Beauty Bay did not do the palette any justice (the shades looked 'washed out' and bland), and that would've put off a lot of people. I don't who at Beauty Bay thought that was a good idea and approved that.

I too almost bought that BH Cosmetics "Lil' bit psycho" this Black Friday but bought "Mimosa" instead and it's so pretty, got it today! When I saw the picture of UD's "Ultraviolet" palette for the first time I really thought buying it but after watching some reviews - yours included - I thought to myself that I won't be wasting my money on that, or the "Stoned Vibes" either (my mum liked it when she saw it in the store, maybe going to buy it as a Christmast present). Oh, and almost bought that PürxRawBeautyKristi palette but the shipping! Almost the price of the palette itself! Are you kidding me?! Thank heavens ColourPop did a collab with her and got meself that one and had it in my hands today for the first time; the supershocks are so... Fantastic! I have to say, when I saw a picture of JS's "Blood Money" I thought that it would be very interesting as I love the colour green. But as it is JS, I won't be buying it, even if I see it in the stores and like the shades - I just can't with that man. I can be a very cold hearted bitch but I have morals and ethics and that man has crossed the line according to me (before somebody throws stones at me, I didn't know about his past until I watched D'Angelo Wallace's video about him, so...). So I'm hoping and waiting for that BH Cosmetics' "Pistachio" palette, because you recommended it and I found I like their palettes too. And it's the fraction of the price, to boot!

those sugarpill capsule palettes are so adorable, i love the unique design behind them for their brand, but i still haven't seen one that i truly really want... i'd like to see them come up for a color story for them that isn't always a variant of a rainbow palette. i don't like wearing blue and purple... or really any neon colors... so having one of those shades in the large pan, when the pan sizes vary in size, is hard for me to justify. hope they keep going with the capsule theme though.

I feel you on the ND Bronze palette! I had a moment of weakness there as well. My only neutral palettes are the Infinity palettes (mostly used as face palettes) and the Nabla Soul Blooming. I am beginning to like neutrals but I just don't wear browns often enough to justify an ND pricetag on browns I'm considering the new Nabla neutral palette (forgot the name). If I'm still thinking about it a month or two from now, I might pick that up since I like Nablas formula. I usually buy stuff several months after them being released to actually decide if I want them, or am I just tempted by something new and shiny.

I almost bought both of the Wayne Goss palettes, but decided not to. The first one I just decided was too expensive for colors I already had in my collection and the second one, though I was more interested in it, I skipped because I got the Lunar Beauty one instead. That one was cheaper with more shades and a similar color story. I eventually want to get a Wayne Goss palette, but they are so expensive for the size it's going to have to be perfect for me to pull the trigger on it. I do love his kohl pencils though, I have bought all of those. (those are significantly cheaper lol)

I have a bad habit of getting sucked into the hype of a new product, especially eyeshadow palettes. Bc of this, I have countless palettes that I bought & haven't used yet even though I've owned them for several months (usually when purchasing multiple palettes in a short period of time)- especially this year bc I haven't been wearing makeup regularly due to the fact that I'm not leaving my house hardly @ all due to COVID19. EDIT: I got curious & counted all the palettes i own & compared that # to the # of them i haven't used yet & the #s are embarrassing. *I currently have 64 eyeshadow palettes* *I've used 27.* *37 are untouched.* (And those #s are after a small eyeshadow palette declutter I did a couple months ago.) Obviously I have a tendency to buy more palettes b4 I'm able to use the ones I already own, causing many of them to be forgotten about & remain unused for months. I DESPERATELY NEED TO WORK ON THIS!

I recognize this highlighter at the first glance, the multichrome shift is gorgeous! After a long fight with myself, I gave up on the red and black Melt palette. It screamed my name the very first moment I saw it, the colour story is eyegasm to me and I really like Melt. But after looking at it again and again, I realized that at least 2 out of 10 shades are redundant, and I already have most of the others and I'm fond of them. Triochrome palette, I was so excited when I first saw it, but then I started to hesitate, what really sealed the deal for me was your review of it. The bronze palette, I'm still not sure about this one. I have the glam palette and they're kind of sisters in my mind. Instead I just built my own Lethal palette with the shades from all three of those (not dissimilar palettes) that I’ve been admiring. I almost bought the Sydney Grace Enduring Love and Melt Cosmetics She’s in Parties palettes. I might still get them next year but I’m glad I held off this year. I bought 4 PML Mothership palettes during her Black Friday sale. I’m actually wearing the ND Glam palette today and it’s one of my favorites. I really enjoy neutral and cool tones and I throw in color once in awhile.

This year I got into makeup a lot more and playing with what I have and building an actual collection but I've been really careful about what I add and spend my money on since I don't want repeats of what shades I already own. The only palette I bought that I highly regret is the Kathleen lights so jaded and colourpop Collab. The formula is different from their other palettes I own and its all ashy and not true to color on my medium tan skin at all smh. It's trash. I convinced myself out of the newest lethal cosmetics palette and it was really hard! Otherwise I finally tried kaliedos and I'm SO excited I did!

I wanted that Native palette too but it was sold out and quite dear with the shipping etc to the UK so, shame!

I love it when you talk about palettes 😁 I've only bought 1 palette this year I'm feeling very proud of myself considering I still have 50 plus 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I have the ABH Norvina mini pro palette vol.3 (the 9-pan w/the 🍒). I just used it last week & love it. You can make cohesive looks w/it but I normally have to pull in @ least 1 other shade from another palette (for example, if I want an all blue look I need a lighter blue & deeper blue. I tried using the green to darken up the mid- toned blue matte but they're both mid-toned shades so you can only tell the difference close up, not so much far away which during this pandemic nobody's that close to me to tell, except maybe my husband & son's)

I agree with you on this video Angie & I also left a good bit of palettes in carts for a while and then decided not to get them. I have bought so many throughout the year that when I really looked at new ones, I just wasn't seeing anything different from what I can do with what I already have. I almost bought the Natasha Denona glam palette but I realized I was just wanting her quality & not necessarily the shades in this palette. I am also a color lover lol & I just wouldn't use that one enough to justify the cost. So my biggest wish for next year is a new colorful palette from ND!! 😉💖💜

I bought it too, it's my first abh palette and it doesn't compare to cheaper brands. I have 2 other shades that beat the white somewhat duochrome at the top left. Glad I got it for $14.50, should have been a sign I was going to be disappointed.

I still have not splurged on a ND palette, but I love the way her color stories are laid out. When she releases a new palette, I go through my collection and realize I don’t need to spend $60+ on a palette.

I have the Lime Crime Venus XL 2. I love this palette. It’s very different.

That awkward moment when I bought 4/7 of the palettes in your thumbnail lol. Some things I truly feel you missed out on would be the Dose of Colors Smokey Soiree and Cutting Edge palettes and the NikkieTutorials palette! Both for the same reason really: the shimmers are STUNNINGGGG. In all 3 palettes the shimmers are so blinding and sparkly, they really pack a punch and they're very surprising in color too. The Dose of Colors ones have a deeper base color with lighter shimmer on top and it's so gorgeous! The NikkieTutorials ones are so creamy, sparkly and wet looking, I love them. They're also nowhere near as neutral as they seem in the promo pictures, they really did the palette a disservice with those. Their brightness washes them out in pictures when in reality they're fun colors with cool shifts.

That Native Palette is right up my alley. I'm pretty sure I can come close to duping it with my singles except for maybe a couple of the shimmer/metallic shades which looked very silver/cool but I'd have to see actual swatches & not just a photo of the pans. Those are the types of neutrals palettes I like or a variety of muted shades of aubergine/mauve( like Melt's She's In Parties) I need some depth & richness in a palette but also some lighter, brighter shimmers too. It annoys me when the darkest shade in the palette is a shimmer or metallic. I hope the Native Palette gets great reviews & a restock.

I loved this video! It's fun to look back and see what we reallllly wanted at the time! I also really wanted the ND bronze and glam palettes. If they were on sale this black friday weekend I would have gotten them.

Hi Angie, I did pick up the Native palette, but I did have to do a pre-order. As I’m sitting here, I haven’t received the palette yet. I did receive a shipping notification. I live in the US. I think average shipping time from AUS to US is usually about 14 business days. I don’t know if New Zealand is the same as AUS. Shannon was having a huge sale on her website this weekend. I did buy some of the new multi chrome shadows from Nikkia Joy’s brand. I haven’t received them yet. I thought the Melt x Beetle Juice was a cool release. The shadows in the collection seem to be great quality. 💜
