Just one thing you missed or idk if it's just me but.... If you playthrough iceborne already the Lynian Researcher will come to Seliana by the round table and not in astra for the meowlotov cocktail gadget... Thanks for the guide tho... It was very useful to me 🙂🙂🙂

U can sleep a monster twice in a 10 min with ur palico if he is using plunderblade and the same for para weapons. Basically whatever weapon equip to ur palico the plunderblade aids the status effect to apply faster

If you want to max out your tailriders' levels you can do so easily by summoning them in the GL and then using life powder on them then reporting to the Handler. Just life powder and report and repeat the process in camp.

Having the Tigrex set bonus, Free Meal Secret, along with Speed Eating and Wide-Range and using Potions works too. You also have a chance of not using the item as well.

Fun fact: the meowcano doesn't wake monsters up, so when I do the classic barrel bomb wake ups I tell my palico to do meowcano then wake the monster for lots of juicy damage

@@JosephC506 it's not, I tell the palico to use it then immediately start charging wyvern fire or whatever your wake up is. Theres a small delay before the meowcano starts so you have a second. The wake up animation is pretty slow or it just flops over into it

yep it works like that too. i realized this when i was on a hunt with a friend where he put the monster to sleep, only my cat was running meowcano. There i thought the meowcano would wake the monster immediately but it turns out it didn't inflict any damage while the monster's asleep.

Plunderblade's Iceborne ability has an interesting side effect. Whether it's an intentional mechanic, or it's just the monster AI trying to attack something attached to it, but the Plunderblade Mount ability confuses the monster and makes it throw attacks all over the place (like a lighter version of Flash Pod effect), giving you window of opportunity to attack it. It also triggers very often, if you play a lot around stuns/trips/wallsplats. Despite primarily being a bulk farming device in the base game, in Iceborne it also gets you noticable amount of money on the side, as well as gives you some combat utility, which is why I find myself using it far more often than anything else on my palico.

Interesting, I used plunder blade against raging brachy and he was doing weird things I see now why, but I wasn't sure what was causing this, I should use this gadget more often.

Maybe I was imagining things but I came to the conclusion it counts as a mount. Often the monster would trigger the tailraider ambushes.

Every time I'm about to give up on the plunderblade it nets me that gem I've been grinding fruitlessly for. It's farming gear - use it when you don't need more power, just more loot - it'll speed up your farm more than the other gadgets (I think). Really good for gold to.

The plunderblade is really good in iceborne if u need cash fast and the direction the game is going in, things are going to get really expensive. But the real reason why it is good it the plunderblade help ur palico to apply status really fast as he latching on to the monster and continously attacks

Great video. Minor comment, you forgot to mention that the gadgets do level up the more your palico uses them. Once they level up they become increasingly effective, especially the shieldspire and the stooge, mine is all leveled up and it does attract elder dragons all the time. Fighting goldian and silverlos with that and stickies it's a walk in the park

The Plunderblade has chances of knocking down monsters if the Palico latches on the monster's face, bug other than that its purely utility. Edit: (I dunno if The Gameconomist already said this but) Tips for farming certain GL bonepiles and Ores, I'd highly recommend using the Tailraider Signal coz tailraiders also gather said items, Worth to share. In my opinion, plunder blade is crazy good. It gives you extra monster parts, and while the mount is kinda bad, the base gadget is awesome for farming, especially if you can already defeat the monster alone that you are farming.

Plunder blade is still VERY useful.I cant tel you how many times i was missing some materials and my palico got it post quest.Also the cash is sweet too. Also i notoced at times the PB mount causes the monster to flich or at times get knocked down so there's that too.

Plunderblade gets really annoying when you're frantically trying to grab stuff on the ground but the 4 Trade-In items get in the way (who even needs Zenny at this point). Also, I have, on multiple occasions, missed out on Palarang drops because by the time the engagement is over with the Monster and they run away, the item usually despawns (sometimes right in front of my eyes as I'm 2 steps away from it). As an HBG main, I hate having to sheathe and go out of my way to grab it while the Monster is enraged and on my ass. It's just not a good feeling overall.

i love the plunderblade, its great for getting extra materials when you're farming, it can do a pretty decent amount of damage to monsters and can even knock them over. the first time i was in the guiding lands, i saw the rathalos, diablos, and zinogre. after the cutscene i booked it, and not even 5 seconds in, my cat uses his plunderblade and i got a zinogre mantle from it, so i like it lmao.

Palico weapons with status effect, procs faster with the meowlotov cannon, in case do you want to apply sleep or paralisis faster. Here is my most used Palico gadgets: 1. Coral orchestra, tons of buffs I get stun protection consistently and coral sonic gong can save your ass in tricky situations. 2. Flashy cage, amazing for guiding lands, trap SPAM so you level up faster the zone. 3. Vigorwasp spray, at max level gives you and extra life, I use this with those 5 boxes investigations with 1 cart limit.

As a heavy gunner, running a palico with the trap gadgets is super handy. Flashfly is meh, boombug is some extra damage and a KO, but Thunderbug is where it's at. Infinite stuns, and makes it super easy to capture monsters with tranq ammo.

Not sure what other gadgets will remain, or how long until they despawn, but this one did somehow in triple threat showdown. Perhaps it's something you could take advantage of on small maps.

Personally the plunder blade is a love hate relationship. On one hand, you're absolutely right as it is the least helpful tool in hunting monsters. But for those like myself who have to upgrade their armor fully, it is necessary to get more money from the trade in items at the stockpile. Other than that, pretty useless unless you count the small fraction of times it may get a monster material from safi

Lynian reasearcher is in Seliana central area after you "open" it in Winterborne. And you must do an High-Rank expedition for getting Odoragon to appear. Great guide but some "essential" details were missing. :D

Flashfly set is best palico tool.... The CC within it is ridiculous when paired with sticky lbg setup. About 90% of the fight a normal monster is on the ground unable to fight back.

Plunderblade is not very usefull except if you need to farm money but i think its good on guiding lands because you farm faster monster and can obtain only 1 specific material (never tried to use it )
