Might be the first time I've seen pallet hunting in a beemer. Pallet hunting in comfort and style.

Haha yeh, I love my old beemer. I do get some strange looks when I'm getting pallets 😂

Awesome stuff Dave. See, people should factor in proximity to a good light industrial area when choosing where to live 🤣🤣

Haha yep! Exactly. What was once a negative is now a sought after location 😉 I'm pretty lucky I'm not far from a couple of pallet hunting grounds

I’m lucky enough to work for a company that uses pallets. I’m able to have as many damaged or ones they don’t want whenever I want them 😊

Gotta stay away from the red and blue ones😂 first pallet you butcher is a CHEP pallet 🤣🤣🤣

🤫 in my defence it was more a Frankenstein pallet with some blue bits hahaha. But yeh.... They do use good wood 😉

Yeh not bad for a morning collecting. Now I just need to decide on what to do with the slabs.

Hiya. I do pallet recycling and find using flush end cutters work better than vice grips at pulling broken nails. I do my hunting with lots of walking then a hand cart. Sigh. Nice wheels under you M8. Take care & stay safe.
@MelbourneMaker8 ай бұрын
Thanks! I'll try and pick up some end cutters from somewhere and give them a go. Always appreciate tips. The beemer is only an older 335, but I've done a bit of work to it and love it. Appreciate your time and advice.

I genuinely didn't realise I wasn't meant to wear gloves. So thankyou.!

I see you’ve made a few visits to Carbatec 😉 also, when using your thickness planer how much are you taking off at a time? I’ve been advised no more than 1mm each pass? 🤔
@MelbourneMaker2 ай бұрын
Yeh the dream is to get a cabatec or timbercon sponsorship haha. Could spend days there. For how much I take off, it's based mainly on feeling as my lunchbox planer was second hand and isn't accurate. The advice you got though I believe is correct. More than a mm and you will get more tear out and on hardwood stress the machine. Thanks for the support 🙂

Hi there, just found your channel. Great video. Can I ask how you got the spinning shot in the car? Around 2:48 mark. Thanks!
@MelbourneMaker8 ай бұрын
Hi mate, thankyou for the kind words. The car shot is using a 360 camera. An insta360 one-rs I think it's called. Ive not used it before and not sure I have really worked how to best use it, but for someone smarter than me it gives a fair bit of scope to done cool things

Are all the pallets you use hardwood? All the pallets I see in Townsville seem to be soft😭
@MelbourneMaker2 ай бұрын
Yeh Dainsey steals all the hardwood ones ;) I use pine pallets for any frames on furniture and hardwood for the tops generally.
