Those long pallets are really good for what your doing at that length. Sure can't beat the price. TAKE CARE..

We totally scored on those pallets! 👍

The tools are certainly important but using these pallets is phenomenal

Thank you. We are hoping to get some free time from school and work to continue the project soon.

Thanks, I have 40 acres NE Nevada and I'm planning on building a cabin out of pallets.
@deserthomesteadprepping89509 ай бұрын
You are not far from us so I'm sure that you experience similar weather patterns with high winds. I think that a Cabin made out of pallets anchored down well will work great for you.
@JosephCompnotta9 ай бұрын
Yea, I was thinking about making shaped like a Yurt so it would handle the wind better. @@deserthomesteadprepping8950

That design will definitely be good for high winds, but the one drawback to round structures is that it is difficult setup rain catchment on them.

Any untreated wood that is in contact with the ground provides a path for termites to be able to consume the entire building eventually.
@deserthomesteadprepping89508 ай бұрын
Here in the Utah desert it is extremely rare to get termites but it could be possible. 👍

Looking good! I built one of these a while back and it was “different” we now use it to store our home furnishings while we build. I have to finish the exterior with stucco. Good stuff

Can the tpost come out
@deserthomesteadprepping895011 ай бұрын
We don't plan to ever take the T posts out, but you can remove them with some effort. There are a few techniques on KZbin for how to remove T posts.

@@deserthomesteadprepping8950 did you stick something under the pallets to keep them from rotting
@deserthomesteadprepping895011 ай бұрын
No, they are just in the dirt. I will be going back and putting some oil down along the bottoms. For the next project we will pre-soak the bottoms with used oil before we place them. Thankful, in our dry climate rotting takes a long time.

@@deserthomesteadprepping8950 alot of people mix oil and diesel and spray cabins and fences. Also have heard diesel fuel and transmission fluid works good as a stain

THIS IS AN "OKO" VIDEO.. you should maybe think about showing the "project"( shed build) closer up. You showed EVERY step of unloading and resloading your pallets to START the project yet are 1000 feet away with only the wind blowing while building project.. Also noticed that your son is bigger then you and yet he was only allowed to play in the dirt even thou you could see he was really wanting to get involved but dad just kept going on as if he was not there at all. very sad.
