Palm Warbler in Pastel with Marla Baggetta

This is a demonstration using a fluid acrylic underpainting and pastel to create this captivating songbird. The underpainting is loose and abstract and I’ve handled the bird using both tone and line. I used Pastelmat paper and a variety of brands of pastel including, Unison, Terry Ludwig, Nupastel, Blue Earth and more.

Marla. I loved this demo. Particularly encouraged and informed by your correction of things you decided you didn't like, from a single mark to 'erasing' his legs. I often find myself faced with a part I don't think works, but am hesitant, and more than a wee bit afraid, to go in there and wipe it out, one way or another. Thank you. Definitely becoming a subscriber and regular follower. :)
