Also it's not like the rifles were worn out/destroyed after the tests, both were fully functional with no major parts wear after the 5k so who knows how many more they could take. I wish I had the time and the property to shoot like you do. Keep doing what you do and living free, that helps us to aspire to do the same. With their switch to forged parts, lifetime warranty, American made, and good price even at 800 I really hope these guys stay around and become the go to first AK for new gun buyers. NOT getting a couple of Bakelite 30’s is MY biggest regret. I’ve considered a GF3 or PSA AK..have a WASR ‘10-63’ UF, AND the I.O. that people love to hate. I did ADD black Magpul MOE furniture AND A NEW ‘Recoil (spring) Guide Rod” and nothing else. As for a “beater truck gun” to use on the place..it works. They have cleaning rods on the way but they said that to mass produce them will make it difficult to price as cheap as you can get surplus cleaning rods since they have to buy blocks of steel and then cut them down to basically nothing.

@JR15A24 жыл бұрын
@@ostiariusalpha Maybe you can explain further, but I seem to recall the price being that low at the time I'm thinking of (80's) because no one wanted them except for folks who couldn't afford anything else. I'm not really amazed that they were once that cheap for what they are. What amazes me is that anyone in their right mind would pay what they sell for today. The same is true for Mini 14's now as well. Why do people pay so much more now for what used to be the poor man's low cost alternative?
@ostiariusalpha4 жыл бұрын
@@JR15A2 The Combloc nations had produced millions of them during the Cold War, and when that ended, they were desperate for cash. So they actually sold them to importers at, or less than, what it cost to make them in the first place. So it was a combination of undervaluing, oversupply, and low demand that set the price early on.

while some people are out here ranting and raving about the qualities of one weapon over another the AK makes it pretty obvious that the most important part of the rifle is that it throws bullets. it's not the sleekest or lightest or even most reliable. but 99% of the time all you need is a bullet going down range.

Let's face it, the only reason you want a cleaning rod is because: it looks cool. How often do you go back home and get that thing out to do the cleaning. We've all done it once, just for the "I cleaned my AK with that rod under the barrel" factor. Then you realize you just scraped a steel rod through out your barrel.... and...any other kit works better.
