These AR9s look pretty sweet. It's probably a niche market but I figure it's cheaper to shoot than 556 and you still get decent ballistic from a 9mm in an 8 inch barrel. I think it's a cool option if you already have an AR chambered in 556. I'm looking for a small lighter option. You probably won't shoot pistol length rifles past 100 yards regardless of caliber. If I want to shoot further than that I would go to back my AR15 carbine. Thanks for the upload.
@samuelneil26913 жыл бұрын
Btw at PSA now $600 for a complete AR9 8" and $550 for an AR15 7.5 inch. Decisions decisions... lol

philip dickson I used the Strike industries Link pic rail with OD and the flat AFG.. It will space it out enough to fit
@philipdickson49326 жыл бұрын
@@cjlgarage4569 ok so you have the magpul afg2? I ordered the original afg because I thought the side piece would help on such a short rail. I attempted to use a small picatinny section, which mounted okay, but did not clear the back of the rail. I assumed the v1 vs v2 afg mounted similar just with extra bulk at the front.
@philipdickson49326 жыл бұрын
@@cjlgarage4569 it's the rail lock at 6 o'clock position that is killing me. Need the grip to lay over that tail with the hex screws. Do u have, and willing, to share part numbers? Why do all these pistol caliber carbines still run a full size 223 bolt stroke... that's way to long for the caliber its shooting? A bolt cycle for a 9mm would be faster and reduce the recoil impulse.

Hey SoTex, maybe you can clarify something. I'm looking at the PSA billet Glock lowers, and they say "Must be used with a Palmetto State Armory Hybrid 9mm Upper." Will they really only work with PSA uppers? Or will they work with other 9mm uppers (modified for Glock mags, of course)?
@cjlgarage45698 жыл бұрын
Typical PSA BS..it will work with other 9mm uppers even milspec uppers ..try Spinta precision..they make some nice uppers ..so does Joe Bob outfitters

you just need to make sure it's a G9 style bolt meaning it is good for Glock mags

All the affordable lowers went out of stock while I was being indecisive, and I wasn't going to pay like $300 for a QC10. In the end, I got a New Frontier Armory lower, and after all those Labor Day sales, I have the bulk of the parts. All that remain are the big ticket items: bolt, handguard, and upper receiver.

Jake Evans no last round Bolt hold open unless you bought the lower that has that feature
@731trident7 жыл бұрын
Jake Evans as the previous post stated, no LRBHO. I purchased one of these, runs GREAT. I also purchased the Palmetto State Armory lower that was supposed to come with a LRBHO. I had to send it back, as it did not hold the bolt open on the last round. PSA was okay, but SLOWWWWW. I told the CS guy my problem with the LRBHO lower and he said "Oh yeah, there's a recall on those!". I was irked by that, because I believe that they should have not sold it. Otherwise, I use a BFS3 Franklin Armory 3-position trigger system in mine, 2k+ rounds through it, ZERO PROBLEMS. I have a couple short videos of it at the range doing 'double taps'.

Nick Hanson you can use one they will bolt up But ejection port on those l is a little too small a lot of the times they will take the shoulder off on the slick sides so that way the 9 mm easily ejects .. look at digital Ar products and Spinta Percision both have billet 9 mm uppers .. and obviously we are talking about stripped uppers not built

At around the 3:45 mark in the video, you say that you'll probably change out the M-LOK hand guard and go to something longer and that it will probably also become an SBR. The way you've got it set up in the video, the ATF would argue that you already have an SBR. If you haven't gotten your tax stamp yet, be very careful with that rifle. The attorney that setup my NFA trust advised me to not even purchase my PSA upper receiver until I have my tax stamp in hand.

True but this is classified as a pistol and has no Stock or forgrip ..The ShockWave never touches my shoulder ..so it's 100% legal....longer forend to Cover the suppressor..I decided not to SBR this for ease of transport..I have a trust with a few NFA items and I'm also a member of Texas Law Shield ..I do appreciate you looking out for another 2nd Amendment Brother as there.is SO many haters and Misinformation out there..
