I agree with the point you're making on how meditative riding is and how it makes you stay in the moment. I love that philosophy. The solitude you experience on a motorcycle helps as well. That blues tune at 24:50, after the petrol station, is wicked!!! I was laughing so hard when you said "I can dry the laundry on the bike" and the next second it's bucketing down with rain 😆😆 Nice episode 👏

Thanks for reminding me to credit the artist of that song. I had forgotten. He's a friend and former bandmate. Good guy - great talent. And yes, that laundry comment ended up being damn silly. I'm good at being "the fool." 😄

@@UrbanMonkTV I've got a black belt in being a fool as well. I think it just adds to the enjoyment of the videos so I keep all those situations in the editing. The more silly I look the more laughter for the viewers. Win - Win!

My 19 Vstrom 650 Adventure will do 95+ mph all day two up and loaded to go moto camping (I’m 6’3” 220lbs and my wife if 6’0” 165lbs) and it gets 40-43 mpg. By myself it gets 50-55 mpg loaded down. Just thought I would provide the information on the Vstrom 650.

Thanks! That's great information for anyone considering the purchase of either Strom, which I imagine there are a few of here. I know if I were in the market for a Strom again, I would probably go for the 650. I get the impression I'd sacrifice next to nothing and gain fuel efficiency (thus keeping more $ in pocket).

@@UrbanMonkTV My Weestrom gets 60+mpg at 4000rpm .... it came to me geared 16/47 rather than the stock 15/47 .. drops the rpms by about 300 in 6th @60mph.. the 16/47 is a little tall for very slow rocky dirt roads but Ok to get to campsites...if I were to do rougher off road more often I would definitely gear it lower... but mainly just do asphalt

I do the profiling you mentioned too because of my dayjob and as a motorcyclist. If you do a lot of miles you kinda develop a sixth sense for the hazards on the road i guess. Enjoyed watching the video, makes me think to do something similar one day.

You should! I'm sure glad I did. I'm itching to get into my shop, but that was an amazing trip. Enjoy your builds BTW.

Awesome video. Now I have to go back n watch the whole series.👍👍 What's that "keep it simple tune" you had dubbed over ?
@UrbanMonkTV2 жыл бұрын
That's a song by Michael James. He hasn't released it that I'm aware of, so for now this is the only place you can hear it. Perhaps he'll do a digital release now that some people are interested in it.
