@@chloewalker214 We aren't talking about something difficult like THAT! This is basic common sense! As you are "pushing" the thread thru the eye of the needle, her brain should have kicked in and realized that there was AN EASIER WAY...🤦🏻‍♀️ I don't care what you say, I'm so sick of people defending people that do shit like this! I was shook when you used all 6 strands, that is probably a bit more difficult to pull through the fabric and the needle. Most use 2 or 3 strands of the thread.
@amara560
@amara560 4 жыл бұрын
It all depends on what project you're working on, but for most 2-3 strands is preferable yes. However with a woven wheel 6 strands makes the build up much faster.

With 2-3 threads you spend more time filling the areas (such a tedious work ) and also it looks more neatly than with 6 threads (i think it looks a bit rough)

There's a better way to use the threader tool! Pop it through your needle first then put the thread through the tool. Pull the tool back through the needle and it will pull your thread through with it without separating the strands of the thread. :D

This was really helpful in helping me think about how to design my own embroidery patterns! I’m awful at drawing, but the little doodle-y flowers and leaves are so charming and don’t seem too hard, and I could probably manage to copy (or, lbr, trace) a reference pic like you did here. The music you picked is also so soothing! I’m glad this popped up on my feed☺️

Rita Sharp’s advice re: using the needle threader tool is correct, whether for the flexible wire-type like you have or the types that are a circular piece of aluminum with a small hole at each end used in tapestry, needlepoint, or bargello stitching. Push the wire (or hole) through the eye of the needle so that the wire opens up enough to slide your thread into the wire. Then pull the wire back out of the needle’s eye, which pulls the thread through the eye.

I use graphite paper to transfer a picture to my fabric. It's similar to carbon paper, but it doesn't smudge the way carbon paper does. It can be found in hobby and craft stores and, I would imagine, also in art supply stores. It can be erased with effort, and by using a kneaded eraser, rather than a "regular" eraser.

split the thread so instead of 6 strands, you use 2 or 3 strands of thread. Also I thread my needle by getting half the amount of thread and pull it through the hole of the needle so both ends meet. then I tie the knot w/ both ends. I'm late but hope it was helpful
