I never forgot seeing her after the end credits of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and feeling so intrigued by her. For years, Wanda was living up to her hype. She was great in Age of Ultron, Civil War, Infinity War, and Endgame. She nearly killed "2014" Thanos in Endgame. Then what happened when she finally got her own Disney+ series when she finally became the Scarlet Witch? People started hating her. She enslaved an entire community because she needed therapy! She went heel in Doctor Strange 2 to find her fake children. Listen, I like Shin too but I've seen too many times seeing a very interesting character only for their story to no longer hold our attention as time goes by. Check IMDb. Black Widow got a low score and Natasha was popular prior to her death in Endgame. I see polls picking Man of Steel over Wonder Woman (2017). And people want WW to be recast while they won't for Henry Cavill. Fans tired of Gal already? Each time a cool female character comes out, fans grow tired of them, especially for male fans. Daenerys Targaryen is a perfect example. Great 1st season by Emilia although I don't find her to be a strong actress. Then writers completely ruined her by S8. And she's supposed to be the greatest Targaryen to ever live. It happens more often than you realize. Remember how cool seeing images of Darth Maul and Kylo Ren prior to TPM and TFA coming out? Remember seeing Kylo's crossed lightsaber and his Vader+Revan inspired helmet? The moment he took of his helmet, the illusion was gone. The moment Obi-Wan split Maul in half, Maul was no longer that cool. For all we know, Shin's previous life was not much different than Wanda. Lots of emotional pain losing people in her life. Wanda saw her parents killed by a missile from Stark Industries. Watched her twin brother die. Watch her lover die. I want Shin to be awesome but I've seen it time and time again when fans turn on a character after a while. Rey was interesting to me after The Force Awakens. By The Last Jedi, I stopped giving a shit about her and her FaceTime Force calls with a shirt-less Kylo Ren. At least Baylan goes out never feeling overexposed to us. Never feeling tiresome. It's like Heath Ledger's Joker. Let's say Heath was able to live on and he was featured in The Dark Knight Rises. And say it wasn't as good as TDK. We will view Heath and his Joker with slightly less praises than how things played out in TDK and on Heath's death. Think Kurt Cobain. He died at age 27. If let's say he's still alive today at 56, would people view Nirvana as highly if he didn't die in 1994? Same with Tupac or Biggie. Everything in life can get tiresome. Shin may get tiresome once we start to explore her mysterious past. They die younger, they automatically become immortal like what happened to James Dean. Disney tried exploring Han Solo's past in 2018 and we realized Han's past really wasn't interesting. Han is a great character but it doesn't mean he has an interesting story to tell. Same thing with the Obi-Wan series. We saw too much Reva and Obi-Wan being a broken man for a decade trying to babysit Leia half the time. The Book of Boba Fett, same thing. Boba's life is not that interesting. Shin's story can be really good but it can turn really bad in a hurry. Just be cautious knowing we have popular Star Wars characters having their own movie or TV series only to realize they're not that interesting. Han, Obi-Wan, and Boba Fett are very popular SW characters but they don't hold that charisma of a Darth Vader because they don't sound like James Earl Jones or are called the Chosen One.

My only hope is that Dave didn’t kill Baylan off with the unfortunate real life passing of Ray Stevenson. It really seems like Filoni had a plan for that character, and I want to know so much more about him. We need an animated version now, so that Stevenson’s likeness can live on and become a truly legendary character. I don’t want his story to end with this season of Ahsoka. Not only would that be a waste of so much amazing potential, but it would be absolutely tragic for both the character AND the legacy of the man behind it.

I think it is going to be Mortis related. Especially with that scene at the end of him standing on the Father statue. The Mortis gods are archetypes, just like how the Zeb's creatures explain that you can be the Fool, the Child, and the Warrior through your life, I think the Son the Daughter and the Father are phases in the Jedi, Sith cycle. The Jedi are powerful (the daughter), then the Son becomes powerful, then the Father restores balance, just like in the series. I think the Father the Son and the Daughter represent they Jedi-Sith cycle.

My theory: Baylan wants to end the cycle by messing with time and destiny(and maybe magic). But will mess things up before that happens and will end up sacrificing himself to save Shin, but he will turn to the light before he dies, helping Shin to eventually turn to the light, also with the help of Ahsoka, who already planted the seed in episode 7. But I think that would need another season. Just a crazy theory. But if he really wants to end this cycle, killing people wouldn't end it in my opinion, since he can't control who is born force-sensitive and who's not, at least my mind can't conceive it at the montent, specially because the dark and the light will always be there. To me he would have to either go against the cosmic force itself or time. I also think that if he will die it will be through a sacrifice, because Ray is not with us anymore, so I think that would be Filoni's way to honor his amazing work. But for that they would have to have changed the show after he passed. Could his passing explain why episode 7 felt like it needed to have advanced more?🤔

Ahsoka never planned to fight Baylan, she even said that. A younger Ahsoka managed to beat and capture Darth Maul - who I think was more powerful than Baylan. If that was her intention to fight, she would have out maneuvered him with her agility. He seems to rely on his physical strength alone.

I doubt it's Palpatine because, like Luke, he would over shadow ashoka. I think there could be either an ancient sith or jedi holocron calling him and he could be possessed by a sith lord from the old republic timeline or even older. The possibilities are endless. But if this next episode is the finale, I would assume there will be a second season down the road, it's gonna be epic one way or the other and a good intro to the Second season.

I don't think it is Papa Palpatine. It could be Mortis but i think because it is a bit linked to the book heir to the Empire, it could be a dark jedi. And i personal don't think it is the Son of Mortis. Most logical is Abeloth because the son is dead and the daughter lives in ahsoka.

@Star Wars Theory i kinda have the wild Question if im the only one thinking that Baylan looks pretty similar to Valkorion ? And lets take this a step further with Valkorions spirit.... the eternal fleet kind of a new power to the Galaxy ? I know sounds crazy but it would kinda fit.

Honestly im open to the possibility of it being palpatine. As much as i didnt like the sequels they exist. This episode takes place after the originals and b4 the sequels there's no avoiding the sequels unless you just decanonize the movies and go in a new direction which obviously wont happen. So if they can use the shows to repair damage the sequels done and make the story better and more coherent im here for it

It doesnt really make sense for baylan to free/help/let take over palpatine his body. Palpatine would just restart the empire and sith just as it was in the original trilogy and we know baylan doesnt want that.

No. Just no. Palpatine should only show up in the clone wars and empire rebellion eras from now on. Have nothing against the character overall, but the fewer reminders of the sequel trilogy the better.

Honestly I would love if they never explained it. Write the stories that should’ve been first, and let the “somehow palpatine returned” be the shallow cash grab that we know it was intended to be
