Excellent video, thanks! I'm currently in the market for a manual antenna tuner, and this Palstar appears to be well built and work very well. Cheers!

Does this Palstar ATU help w/ both receiving signals and transmitting on a given frequency? Or does it just improve your transmitting capabilities?

Hello Capt. Darren. I'm in the market for a manual tuner as I'm not real happy with my MFJ Autotuner. I'm looking at a Palstar AT500 as I never run amplifiers... just barefoot. Your video is very informative. Thank you! 73's from Kevin NE0D

Hello, I'm not familiar with Palstar AT500. I favor the Palstar Brand. I've own'ed the Palstar AT2K and HF-Autos. Take a look at the LDG 1000 ProII.

What is this “manual” you speak of? Are you referring to the paper booklet thingie they give you for protection of the top panel when you stack a radio on top? Asking for a fellow ham.

@Doug Taylor, yes the owners manual, instructions pamplet. It comes with the tuner or if you've missed placed it, you can download the AT2K from the Palstar's website.

did you get the hf-auto off from Qrz? I see you were asking :)

I bought one at regular price and I bought the one from QRZ. You got that right. Check out my QRZ page and you will see my station in Florida. This one that I bought from QRZ will be at my Texas station. I will sell my AT2K and 1000ProII later once I have my HF Auto running. Since, I'm always on the road flying, I remote in to both stations. 73's de Capt Darren, have a great day!

Tune for maximum noise first BEFORE transmitting. Set both capacitors to 100, max capacity, then crank inductor coil for maximum noise. Then adjust capacitors for maximum noise. Than the inductor. Etc. Do this a few times before transmitting even at low power. Dave K8WPE
