@fortigan217410 ай бұрын
I appreciate the compliance of this test with actual scientific method. You tested 1 variable (stat outcomes from breeding), No additional variables in the mix (same set of parents) and a sufficient enough sample size to draw conclusions. You then confirmed the results with a 2nd identical test using a different type of pal. This is useful data instead of the conjecture or flawed experiments I see everywhere else.

10:15 I may be misunderstanding, but I’m pretty sure this conclusion is wrong. It looks like from the data, EACH parent has a 30% chance to pass down their stats, with a random mutation happening only 40% of the time. The parents combined rate of passing down their stats is 60%, or in other words, 60% of the time, the offspring inherits one of the two stat values from their parents, and the other 40% of the time the result is random. This should mean it’s a lot easier than the conclusion suggests to pass down max 100% stat values if both parents have the same stat maxed.
@stefanreindel988810 ай бұрын
I love the non-intro intro. Thanks for the explanation. Hopefully the devs will make it not so random in the future. On the other hand, it is kinda nice not to have to worry about TV/IV inheritance, on top of passing down the passive skills/Traits.

aight. my take away is exactly 1 thing: as long as there is no ranking or ladder in the game: dont bother IV-breeding. that being said, the vid was very interesting and hats off to you and your production value! the thing about 2+2 trait pals was something i had concluded from my own pal breeding but it certainly is reassuring to see it in writing

Hey Austin John thanks for making these videos covering Palworld! I saw a comment that someone made referencing this video in Blahable's Hidden IV thread. Blahable responded to it with an evaluation of your data from this video that I think you might really want to take a look at. The TLDR is he found breeding IVs to have better odds than what was concluded here. I was able to find it quickly by clicking on comments in his profile. I apologize that I don't have a better way to contact you, but I figured you would want to be aware of this information.

It's nice that you have the patience to do these tests. Since there is a decent chance the child will get the IV's from one of the parents, combining parents to keep getting good IV's seems like a good way to improve. Because once you get the traits needed, looks really random to get the IV's you want and keep the traits, I think going the other way around is the way to go. I think most optimal way is to keep breeding until you get a male and a female, both with good IV's and each with 2 of the desired traits. I think perfect start would be 1 pal with each of the 4 desired traits, 2 male, 2 female. I would combine both pairs in parallel until I get from each of the pair a male from one side, a female from the other with good IV's and the 2 traits and nothing else. For each pair: - if a pal has only one of the traits, check his IV's (probably have to level him up to 10 or something). If the IV's are better and the sex is a match, switch it in for the one with the worse IV's. - if a pal has both of the traits, check his IV's. If they are good enough he is a candidate for the second phase. but keep breeding until the other pair also has a good candidate and of the opposite sex. You never know if you don't get a better one until then. Once you have both base pals with good IV's and two traits each, start making sweet babies until you get what you want. If you can afford it, run in parallel the base ones as well. You never know when you get a better one for your combo, or you might get a second pair to breed. The more breeding you can run in parallel, the less time you spend until you get your perfect pal. The time in between breeding can be spent making cakes so you can have more breeding in paralel. You could have a base dedicated to breeding only, a base dedicated to only making cakes and the first base being your good for everything base. None of the breeding will be lost anyways as it will go into the condenser at the end. I would only do this for my preferred battle pal, maybe 2 battles pals at most. I don't think IV's are worth the hassle for the running pals.

Great video and thank you for the tests! Regarding the melee attack not being passed down, the modder of Pal Info said that melee attack is basically not used for anything in the game and shot/ranged attack is the actual attack value of the pal. All of my testings pretty much correlate with the results in the video. I was lucky enough to get a 100/100/100 IV pal and once I started breeding it, relatively often the offspring would inherit one of those IV values, regardless of what the other parent has. The other times when no inheritance occured, the IV was completely random and had no relation with the average IV of the parents, as many people were saying.
