Great discussion of 60s music and Gram Parsons. I have an original Pamela Des Barres dress. My first record was "Thunder Road". Robert Mitchum 1958. Thanks for all Art.

I also have one of Miss Pamela's dresses (a Lilly Pulitzer), which I so treasure. I loved being able to watch this.

im currently reading miss mercy’s book. such a great memoir. she really was so immersed in the music scene in California specifically Los Angeles. It’s really interesting hearing her perspective on the scene during the 60s-80s. The book was really captivating because i also love music like miss mercy and we are apart of the same Los Angeles punk scene just generations later.

I listened to _Permanent Damage_ about a year ago, and I haven't stopped thinking about Miss Mercy and her lifepath ever since then. I mean.. wow! And to think that I stopped listening to it earlier on - I have to admit, I was upset about her attitude regarding the death of Janice Joplin and I didn't know if I was going to go back to listen to more after that or not. RIP Janice Well, I'm really glad that I picked up where I'd left off. That book just kept getting better and better as it went along. There's so much in it that makes me stop and think about life, psychology, that time period, abuse, homelessness, all the other people on the scene, attitude, Frank Zappa's No Drugs Policy, etc. Ooops - did I leave out Music??! Her book had a huge impact on me and on how I think about many things. I heard they were going to make a movie about her life in 2020 and that Courtney Love was begging to play her -Oh Yes Please! But they got thwarted by that phony thing that freaked everybody out. Every now and then I check to see if they decided to make it anyway and it doesn't look like it.

I just read Mercy's memoir and I had to hear her speak! May I ask, when was this originally aired?

@@artFeinPokerParty Thank you. _Permanent Damage_ sent me here. I just love Miss Mercy. I've started listening to "I'm With The Band" now too. Since listening to Miss Mercy's book, I think about how fortunate Miss Mercy and Pamela were to have such a good friendship and life together. It seems like it was fated to be.
