PAM8406 - 5V Digital amplifier board (6W+6W) impressive sound

Incredibly good sound and power from an amplifier which works on only 5V DC input power. I never thought that this will move my old hifi Sony SS-H551 speakers. And it can be even powered by a standard phone 5V charger.

Nice. When comparing to other ~$10 boards, this particular 8406 circuit seems to be getting a lot of praise. It might not be the loudest and most powerful in it's price bracket, but certainly the best clarity out of the bunch. You've convinced me to pick one of these up on amazon. It'll drive some rather cheap passive speakers that I'll be using to experiment some cabinet designs with. I just wanted clean amplification so the signal chain isn't colored as it hits the speakers. Thanks for the reference video, very useful!

You only get 5W RMS if speaker impedance is 2 ohm, and 3W RMS @ 4ohm.

Its a good tiny amp. But it does not gives a 6 watt output even at 2 ohm. At 6 ohm likely to be 3 watts

PAM8403 is a 2 channel 3 watt amplifier and PAM8406 is a 2 channel 6 watt amplifier (both are stereo) obviously higher the watt, better the sound quality but more the watt, the more high power input (6watt + 6watt= 12watt), you will need fast charger (more than 10 watts) to operate PAM8406 nicely The product which is in this video is PAM8406
