It's special because it's real and Pamela is very good at being real. She's unpretentious and sharp and yet shows such a genuine softness for people. I never had a role model in life because I didn't see any one I wanted to be like. I'm 28 and I have picked Adlon as my first role model. I'm very grateful and I think she's funny and beautiful. I cannot even say enough how great she is.

The reason why this show is so awesome is because it is so very real, especially if you have raised kids!

Better Things has been my favorite sitcom since the first episode of the first season. Very sad it’s ended, but I’ll continue bingeing the series as long as it’s on Hulu. ✌️🤟

I came late to Pamela's show Better Things, now viewing it on HULU and I love the show and I love you Pamela Adlon! I was also late to the party with Louis C.K. but was so happy to discover him as well, viewing his stand up shows and just when I was about to watch his TV series on Hulu the MeToo disgrace happened and he was erased. I am so pissed off at that aspect of the movement, just destroying people and their lives and their careers. It is so vindictive and unforgiving, yuch! I'm also afraid that we will end up losing comedy and even our freedom speech! It also feels terrible that someone like Pamela had to distance herself from Louie, I imagine to some degree in order to save herself from the firestorm. Seeing her material and knowing about their close association it is hard to believe that she really wanted to do that. How sad. I hope it all blows over and one day Pamela and Louie finish that movie that is in a computer somewhere!

Before even watching this, I know why Better Things affected people so deeply. It's not a made-up sitcom with a laugh track. This is based on the day-to-day stuff that every woman goes through as a wife, an ex-wife, a mother, an adult child, and as someone trying to earn a living. It's what I call "the draw of the little moments". We all have big things in our lives that we use to measure time-weddings, the birth of a child, birthdays, graduations, the death of a loved one. They're no doubt moments that don't happen every day, but they're fleeting. They don't really make our life. It's all the little moments in between--things like fighting with your siblings but then putting your arms around each other when something happens and hearing that it's going to be okay. It's all the terrible things we say to each other, and then the person you were fighting with making peppermint ice cream for you as a midnight snack. It's listening to your kids yammering on about how hard their lives are when you're too tired from trying to figure where your next job is coming from. It's having your kids tell you they hate you in one breath, then crying for their mother when a boyfriend dumps them. It's a million little moments that make up a life and that's what Better Things was about. It showed viewers that we all go through the same basic sh*t but even in slightly dysfunctional, one parent families we can be there for each other. People can relate to that not the "Leave it to Beaver" let's solve a crisis in 30 minutes kind of show.

I am SUPER LATE to this Party! I friend mentioned it on Friday and became "addicted" and binge every episode. There are too many great moments to mention all my favorites, but I know that with Pamela Adlon at the helm, I believe the future Seasons coming in 2020 will be equally as powerful, moving and funny without the brilliance of LC.K.

What a horrible interviewer sitting there with a fuckin ipad. Pamela Adlon is so talented and down to earth, it's just absolutely incredible to watch her. I hate to have to see her sit there with that buffoon. She's just brilliant. By the way, what's up with all the wind blowing on the set? It's not like they're outside.

Ah I don't know. There's aspects of this show that I love but most of the time the majority of the characters are real whiny and spoilt. As a single mother myself I get what she's trying to potray specially the way your kids just blame you for everything but it can be so 'come on' get over it!! There is a bit of the white privileged spoilt brats about it. Maybe it's an American thing.

Better Things has had rave reviews which describe it as comedy-drama. Where is the comedy? Has anyone watching this roared out with laughter, cracked their ribs in merriment or had tears of hilarity come to their eyes? The target audience for Better Things is those who have shitty lives and can relate to sad dysfunctional family life. The humour is flat and is on a par with soaps in which viewers tune in to get their weekly dose of misery. Maybe it is cathartic for the sadsacks who rave about Better Things, but it is tragedy masquerading as comedy.
