Interesting. Many things could be derived from other things. My sinawali practiceing with Wmpyr and you, Sakam, derived from my juggleing hobby. I was experimenting, started to juggle with three long sticks. Now, i use two of those hazelnut tree sticks to have some fun with sinawali movements. Of course, derivation started as a chain reaction. So, here i am, watching your knife boxing video.

Hi Sakan! Good stuff. I am thinking about the grip of the knives. You have your index finger extended on the blade, why? Why not a kind of classic fist?
@SakanLam3 жыл бұрын
Hi there. The pointer finger extended on the blade gives you a little bit more control and articulation when turning the blade over for spiral thrusts. In doing so, you sacrifice some grip control. Thanks for watching!
@ZenDragonYoutubeChannel7 жыл бұрын
Interesting, some good thrusting techniques. Slashing of course is also good with the knife. :)
@SakanLam7 жыл бұрын
Zen Dragon Thanks man. The key point is the translation of knife fighting into boxing. The slashing movements come in a later series which translate into hammerfists.

@@robdgrifbeats6282 I try to support people who share stuff of value and encourage them to keep it up. As a KZbinr, I know that knowing people appreciate what I put out and find value in it is my primary motivation to keep doing it :) But always fun to see supporters of multiple martial arts channels... The KZbin martial arts community is not that big again... at least not counting the channels which have consistently shared content and build an audience over the years :)

This has quickly become my most disliked video! Really unsure why...
@marklaska83587 жыл бұрын
Sakan Lam I think that it is because other people like me may see the knife as a cutting device. I do not understand the unification of boxing movements with a knife. I see a more effective marriage of wing chun and knife strikes. I see boxing footwork with knife fighting but not the hand techniques.
@SakanLam7 жыл бұрын
Makes a lot of sense my friend. I really see it as a tool to sharpen up the boxing skills... this is something Guro Ted Lucaylucay taught.
@gripen69696 жыл бұрын
It makes perfect sense You just gotta be open minded about it and not be a one way focused individual, variety is important and interesting Thank you
@lowlowseesee3 жыл бұрын
@@SakanLam Sakan it could be several reasons. one mainly being that people do not like knives. they want practical techniques. most people arent going to use a knife let alone practice with one lol. I dig it because I know there are places where knowin how to do more than wildly swing a blade is useful. these days with cobra bags and its many variations and constant inventions to sharpen boxing, even fewer people see boxing with knives as a way to sharpen boxing lol
