Great review. I've been doing lots of research on this model and many others. This looks to be the one I'll probably use to get on the ground running. How well did it perform for you with other glass attched (canon, nikon, etc.)? I've read that using third-party glass makes it manual only and when trying to mark focus points on the lenses for rack focus, that the points aren't the same when returning to them. Is this true?

Even if just to see more gorgeous video even in insanely low light, when both cameras come to market, a head to head between the GH4 and the a7s would be sweet!

Thanks for the review, it covers almost everything I wanted to know. I am an amateur videographer myself, I have a canon 550D and a couple of lenses. One of the things I dislike about my camera is the fact that it can only record files up to 4GB. Do you happen to know if the same thing happens with this camera? I hate it when it stops recording. The only option I have is to have magic lantern installed and reduce the bitrate.

Thanks for reviewing this awesome camera, Blunty! On the issue of image stabilization and lack thereof--I really think you should check out the heavenly buttery moves of the Sony RX10. A lot of reviewers seem to have a problem placing it (*cough!* Philip Bloom *cough!*), but I think it's one of the most underestimated hybrid camera's out there. Review, please?

The only thing that could make the GH4 better today, is if they put the GH4 in the C100. Dual card recording. XLR. Video ergonomics. If they make it twice the price and remove the stills features still I'd buy it. Thanks for the review Blunty.

Sandisk Extreme pro 95 mb works like a charm! It's right! I have the Gh4 now for a week and NO regrets about my Canon 5D switch. So the GH4 is incredible fast and does accurate autofocus. It's really a fantastic camera

How's the dynamic range? The flat profile looks to preserve the shadows reasonably well, but I'm interested to know how it compares to other cameras (i.e. BMPCC, 5D3)?

If I had the money for it right now, I'd pick one up too! I do think Panasonic withheld the ibis, just so people would pick up their X series lenses with OIS (12-35 and 35-100 2.8s). Otherwise the Olympus 12-40 and 40-150 might just be the better lens option on this incredible camera.

i need to upgrade, i shoot alot of event and more concerts both video and photos, more photos than videos, but videos are still a big part its like 70% photos 30% videos. I just have a g2 now from panasonic with some lenses so i thought of not going full frame and just buying the gh4 body because money is also an issue. Just startet like 2- years ago shooting at events and concerts and tried to make myself known and know it seems like more and more people know me and more events coming for me because of that, so thats why i wanna upgrade. Today i had in a local store the gh4 in my hands and it was great also high iso seemed great , but i dont know if its the right choice for a even video+photographer like me.

Looks awesome but I love the Sony Alpha line too much, I can't wait until they release 4K slt's. Hopefully 4k will be cheaper by then too. But If I did have to switch I would definitely go to Lumix.

it is pretty darn insane for 5 grand USD you can get a semi pro 4k video production line. that is just crazy cheap if you think about it 2 grand for the camra and 3 grand for the 4k monitor and colorcalabration. the thing is i still wouldn't recomend people doing it since the commerical standards for 4k just isn't there yet. while HDMI 2.0 standard has been set no product uses it yet so any other 4k sultion is annoying to get working properly. atlest once it is ready upgrading to a 4k production line won't be that expensiv.
