One should really refect on the core importance of inspecting for the loose grounding screw issue and why it causes sustain boards to fail in the first place. one should check the tightness of all the grounding screws on every board , But the grounding screws on the sustain board carry a lot of current and are a known issue , panasonic issued a new type of screw that includes a lockwasher to address the issue of loose ground screws damaging boards. if you have one of there newer sets it may have the fix allready applyed ..

Panasonic Viera 65 inch plasma TV about 8 years old. Starts to click on then fails, then blinks 8 times, pauses and repeats 8 blinks. How likely is this the SS board as suggested by Panasonic?

I have 12 blinks, which board would you recommend to replace?
@coppelltvrepair6 жыл бұрын
If we had your TV here we'd be able to find the board, but we don't know what usually produces 12 blinks at this time and will have to rely on other sources to make an educated guess. This may be good to our business, but may not be so good for you, so we'll leave you to check those other sources and decide for yourself.

It is speakers or board A has to be replaced

Have the same issue with 8 blinks which is followed by 2 audible click noises from the power yet the board does not look discolored nor do any capacitors look swollen? Could it still be the SS board?
@coppelltvrepair7 жыл бұрын
If I talk about swollen capacitors in this video in the context of this being the problem then I am in error and I ask to be forgiven. Your board most certainly is discolored, but if have left you with the impression that this is a tell sign of a failure then I have mislead you and I ask to be forgiven. If you have not watched the video and still ask questions underneath is then you need to watch it first...consider yourself forgiven.

@coppelltvrepair8 жыл бұрын
I am sorry, I have to watch the whole video to see what are you talking about. We usually do not replace boards, we usually repair them and keep the original ones in. When you replace a board you should take its number from the working TV , which is way better than anyone at KZbin, even us. Of course if you get a TV without an SS board then you look around what it should be, but that's a different story and , no offense meant, we can't afford to educate people how to salvage electronics.

Am I just OCD or does nobody in this world clean the dust off their furniture and/or TVs? WTF?
@coppelltvrepair6 жыл бұрын
My answer based actually on relatively limited experience (compared to a traditional TV repairman) is that nobody in this world cleans the dust off their TVs. Our core business is repairing boards for TVs, not TVs, but I'd say 80% of the TVs we see (being brought up to us) are full with dust inside. It often takes more than one can of duster per TV.
