Panasonic vs P-50 & siren death

The failure was caused by a small crack in the chopper that must have gone unnoticed by anyone. P-50/Cyclone choppers are 2 feet in diameter which is extremely big for something spinning 60 times per second. As the siren was being “bumped” to full speed during attack and the various times throughout the run, we suspect the repeated rapid changes in centrifugal force caused the crack to grow until it finally cracked the chopper in half, at which point it lodged itself against the stator and came to a dead stop. The motor was still warm to the touch about an hour and a half after this happened when we took it apart, so the motor may have sustained some damage in the process.

it's a shame too when you realize probably no one is going to go through the effort to build a new rotor because A. metal = expensive and B. BIG rotor size

​@@wigwagstudios2474unless they could find one from a parts P-50 but the only parts P-50 I know of is the former state fair park siren with the fried motor in ASC's yard. Even then, that would be super hard to do so cause you would essentially have to buy that siren from ASC. Assuming they are willing to sell it for parts.

@wingochan9400 Before the sirens rotator failed and later the siren sucked some fiberglass from the horn and blew up the chopper and stator got cracked and destroyed it will need a new stator and chopper and rotator

Probably not. Because your gonna need a freaking big 3D printer to print something that size. For one. And two, the plastic or whatever the printing material is called would likely shatter and self destruct from running at that speed.

That's a rough way to go :( At least now I know what sound is left after a siren suddenly cuts out, and with one of the beefiest electric ones at that! So who wants a repair and restoration project now? Gonna need $$$ that's certain!
