And that wraps up our series! If you stuck around till the end, thanks so much for watching! Let me know what you think about the final presentation. I should note that I made a few alterations on the final image that weren't on the video: - Increased the Contrast - Adjusted the Colors to turn the darker areas a bit more blue - Added a rim light around the edges of the bags to help separate them from the background - Darkened the edges of the images to bring more focus to the bags

The only reason I’m pointing this out is because everything else is so spot on perfect: the text in some areas doesn’t bend with the crease of the paper bag like it would in real life, and everything else is so realistic this stands out. Also the top of the pile of powder in the spoon can use some more realistic edges, it kinda looks cut out.. other than that, this is genius, you are genius, I love all of your designs and overall style
@Stardoll2574 жыл бұрын
Totally amazing! I’m so blown away! You showed me that combining different photos and elements isn’t supposed to be so difficult as a make it sometimes. I hope there would be more “long explanatory” videos in the future! Also I would love to see a video all about understanding light and how it affects objects.
@BrandonShep4 жыл бұрын
So happy you liked it, Gabi! I think that vast majority of the time, it just comes down to finding the right assets at the right angles (and generally spending a long time doing so lol). Will certainly make more of these longer videos in the future. And I've had several other people say they'd like a video about lighting/shading, so I'll put that one in the pipeline for the near future!

Bumping this ! I was about to comment on that. You've designed on top of the packaging, so I assume there are some awkward-looking corners hanging outside the paper bag shape that wouldn't fly if copy pasted onto the flat print-ready template. Also CMYK is uhhgggh......

Something I've learned from observing the world, light can reflect off of everthing, and leaves the color of the reflection on the shadows of the closest object, like how the powder would maybe leave a white reflection in the shadows of the bags. It's kinda like how shadows outside are blue in tone on sunny days, it's because of the blue sky being reflected into the shadows. I'd imagine in this scene the shadows would be rather dark but get a saturation of the surrounding color in the lighter areas of the shade, so brown would be the predominant color, with some white near the mix.

youre masterful with the shadows!

So, im new to package design (not to graphic design but the packaging it self), and i was wondering if you could perhaps add videos for beginners about technical stuff too ? Hey, Bertan! Glad you're liking the videos man. Might make some more beginner level content in the future. There's a lot of that type of info already out there, which is why I'm doing more intermediate/advanced content right now. But I have had several people ask for more beginner content. I'm considering making a full Intro to Design course (paid most likely) in the near future that covers everything someone would need to know to get started with design. Do you think that would be interesting?

Although it's all very cool, but where are the blocks for information about the manufacturer, ingredients, expiration date, storage conditions, the barcode and other important things for the manufacturer, the seller and the consumer? It all takes up a lot of space that you forgot to keep. If you assumed it would all be printed on the sides of a paper bag, literally no one does that
