+SilverPig47 there are still deals to be had... but I'm glad I loaded up before this current run. It seems there is quite a rush on panda's this year. 30-60 days ago the market was significantly softer. There's a bit of a frenzy going on right now it seems.

Absolutely beautiful. I need to research more about getting a couple of my new coins graded. I am wondering how much it has the potential to increase the value. I know it can vary greatly but the pandas I bought were still in their mint package as well.

+Numistacker That's because you are going for 1/4's. Trying to backdate 1/4's is very difficult. The 1995 1/4 just auctioned for $5,200 with several pieces above $1,000. If I can find a relative deal on the 1/4's, I pick them up where I can, but the 1/10's for a date set avg.s $150-$300 with a handful outliers. This is also happens to be my primary selling range for stuff I buy and sell. So my net avg cost is < $250

+Numistacker This is actually why I chose to focus on the pandas. As it turns out, there is tractor beam from China recalling many of the older Pandas. Although US demand is not that large yet, we have a pool of nice Pandas. My focus is on the semi-key dates which has the possibility to turn into the next key in the future. It didn't take long for the 2002 1/10 to go from $300 to $2000+ for a measly 0.1 oz of gold. There are stupid high premiums on some of these but the market already exists to gobble them up. Personally I can't do the 2002. It's too outrageous! Even raw is $1850+. The 1/2 oz. The 1995 is experiencing a little bubble with many buyers at $18,000 from $3,000 a year ago, all of which are heading back to China.

+Numistacker btw. I will never pay the BIN prices you see on eBay unless its reasonable which there are in some cases but they get snapped up pretty quickly. Out of 10 pandas I had on sale, I only have 2 left.

What a great video. Didn't realize there were so many varieties for the gold pandas in 10th ounce in the 90s. Do they hold true for the other sizes?

Yes it holds for all the large and small dates but not the other variety i.e.: long short leaf frosted leg etc.

Do you find leaving the pandas in the mint plastic is a safe way to store? Lastly, have any recommended forums or resources to focus on for these little guys? Only got into PM's this past April and have found this channel very informative and helpful.

Peter Anthony is coming out with an updated book on the panda series. If you don't have the 2nd edition, you might want to wait for the new one. Leaving them in the OMP is the best way to keep them until they are sold or graded. The plastic is surprisingly resilient. I never recommend taking it out and putting it in a flip or capsule. Glad you find it useful!

Oh man, I just bought a display box for the 1/2 & 1/4 ounce pandas that are still in the sleeve. I was so worried about the plastic sleeve not appearing tough enough to protect the coin. I will have to buy the book as well. Thank you so much for your informative videos. I have a lot to learn.
